shygye
Link COMEDY star Trevor Bannister - who played ladies' man Mr Lucas in Are You Being Served? - has died aged 76. Trevor shot to fame in the 1970s department store sitcom as he chased after pretty sales assistant Miss Brahms, played by Wendy Richard. His tragic death comes just two years after he gave a reading at co-star Wendy's funeral. Trevor's brother John revealed he had suffered a heart attack while working on his allotment in Thames Ditton, Surrey. He said: "He was a good lad, we were all very fond of him." After two years' National Service, Trevor studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. His lengthy TV career included stints in police dramas Z Cars and Dixon Of Dock Green, as well as The Avengers and more recently Last Of The Summer Wine. Flashermac
My father always pointed out how the military had turned around a lot of lives for the better. (He was referring to peace time though, not sending them off to get killed.)

unit731
A great comedy in more simpler times. Reminds me of the time I was in Harrods Department Store and I was in the Gents department and I asked directions for the toilet. The kindly sales clerks sent me to the ladies room WC on another floor. Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft did a great job with this show.
