Steve Posted May 12, 2011 Report Share Posted May 12, 2011 The Shiite vs Sunni hatred is amazing. It is maybe even worse than during the Catholic vs Protestant wars in Europe in the 17th century. A Muslim classmate years ago admitted to me that he really hated the Shiites. Each side claims the other aren't really Muslims. If the West would leave the Muslim world alone, they'd probably keep their quarrels between themselves and we wouldn't have many problems with them. But our governments' can't seem to keep their noses out of the Middle East. I've saying that for ages. You know who fears Iran possibly more than Israel? Saudi Arabia. Its more likely Iran will go to war against Saudi Arabia than they would Israel. Sounds crazy and another CS hyperbolic rant but Iran hates the fact that the Saudis are in charge of the holiest cities and considers them thoroughly unworthy of keepers of the shrines. Not that there is any love loss for the Israelis but they don't really care about the Palestinians. The Iraq/Iran war of the '80s was really a religious war disquised as a border dispute.
