Redbaron
There's a very good argument for that gobble (legalizing drugs). Done in a controlled, safe, taxed and manageable way illegal drugs would be no more popular than illegal tobacco. I'd say there's be a bit of it but if taxed narcotics became cheap, there would be no incentive to sell it illegally. Benefits: tax, if done properly you would know where the drug addicts are (through prescriptions and/or safe houses/injecting rooms), less strain on paramedics/ER's who are often assaulted when responding, less strain on the police force, prison beds would be freed up, streets cleaned up/safer... Cons: political party who introduces policy would lose votes (at least down under), people who aren't addicted MAY start to dabble (if it's legal it can't be too bad mentality),
gobbledonk
I know how KS feels about any mention of prohibited substances, so I'll leave it there. We do run the risk of appearing to promote an activity which the Thai justice system treats very harshly. Their country, their rules.
