Once again, Stick has hit a nerve with me, objecting to the fact that 'sex tourists' and 'sexpats' are now (?) lining up GTGs from online dating sites, having unprotected sex with them, taking photos of their pee-pees for internet publication and then dumping them, hence breaking their trusting hearts.

 

1. How is this a 'new' phenomenon ? From the day I got here almost ten years ago, different board members bragged about banging some flight steward/hotel receptionist/whatever. Perhaps girls from the suburbs of BKK are 'different' - beats me.

 

2. This is the part I really struggle with - I can accept that some Thai women make it to 20 with their hymens intact, despite the efforts of a legion of Thai men, but how does that suddenly go out the window for a quick bonk in a Farang's hotel room, followed by the kind of photo session that would make a gynacologist blush ? 'Virgin' my arse....

 

3. I don't buy the 'Thai man no good' line completely, but when you get it from a 20-something Farang woman who has spent 2 years at Uni in Bangkok, its a reminder that single Thai guys aren't above a little deception of their own. The assumption is that Sweetcheeks Siriporn, having saved herself for her Farang in a shining BMW, has never surrendered to the (undeniably attractive) men who share her language, culture and know exactly what buttons to push - spare me.

 

Is it any different in the provinces ? I doubt it - the girls might not be as world-weary, but from what I've read here they know how babies are made from a very young age. As one of the aforementioned 'sex tourists', I guess its no surprise that Stick knows how to get a reaction, and I agree with him re the 'unprotected sex with whoremongers' minefield, but the rest of it just left me shaking my head.

 

Photos ? Sure, but only working girls and only with their explicit consent, and I've never posted them online. One thing that I do agree with Stick and some of his wowser buddies about is that 'bragging about conquests' when you paid a girl to have sex with you makes absolutely zero sense, but I dont see how its any better when she didn't go home with cash. I did post a few photos of girls the morning after, fully clothed and smiling as they left my room, but even that now seems juvenile. We dont 'own' any of the girls.

 

Still, what the fuck do I know - spend months on end in the Farang ghettoes with occasional forays into the countryside where I'm surrounded by yokels - even there they seem to hand their kids off to the grandparents so they can pull a night shift at a Family Mart. Hardly the fair maidens sitting in a castle waiting anxiously for their Prince to fly in from Manchester. Perhaps there *is* an army of Thai virgins out there just waiting for Frede to deflower them with a camera crew and battery-powered 12" dildos - please feel free to publish full details of their whereabouts.

 

Stick, when I was a young guy in Sydney, Pakeha women from your country had a reputation as 'goers', but I don't judge all NZ's women by the example set by a few feral tarts who came to Bondi to get drunk/stoned/laid. By choosing to paint one half of Thai womanhood as cunning sluts and the other half as naive innocents, I really think you are doing all of them a grave disservice. I hope you will step down from your pulpit once in a while and accept that Thailand just isn't the place it was when you arrived in the 90s.

In reality, Thai women by and large don't seem to care that much about how a guy looks. It's the BAHK WAN that is important. I've lost track of how many times I've heard a TG say, "I love the way he talks." And that is exactly what gets them into trouble! The sweet talking, lying-through-his-teeth, heartless SOB is usually the one who gets their virginity. I've seen it myself, and my Mrs gave me a run down on her closest friends in uni. One girl - with a fantastic set of norks I had trouble not staring at - was woo'ed and screwed by a male student who was quite ordinary looking. He pursued her for months, finally getting to poke her on a trip to the waterfall. After he had shagged her for a while, he grew tired of her and dumped her. She started asking around - afterwards - and discovered tthe guy was already married with a wife and 2 kids. But he had told everyone at the uni he was single. Another pretty, white northern girl was courted by a Thai civil servant - a surveyor, I think - who came to town periodically. After a number of months, he proposed marriage to her. She accepted. So he gave her the line, "Since we are going to get married, prove you love me by spending the weekend at a hotel with me." She went along with it and the guy bonked her brains out for 3 days. When he left, he told her they would get married on his next visit to town. She never saw the guy again.

 

I discussed this crap with the male students, and they all agreed it was fair and the guy had done nothing wrong. "If she had really been a good girl, she wouldn't have let him fuck her until AFTER they were married."

 

Mind you, a large minority of the GTGs get through university without getting wrung through the wringer. But quite a few certainly fall by the wayside.

 

Oh, yeah ... everyone of the guys who all said it was all right to lie to a girl to get her into bed insisted that they themselves would never marry a woman who wasn't a virgin. And you thought western guys were bastards?

 

p.s. When I came to LOS 30+ years ago, I would say very few GTGs were willing to sleep with a guy, less than 1 in 10. Nowadays, maybe raise that to 20% ... possibly even 25. My Mrs remarked to me one day that she was worried about her university student niece. She said, "I always thought she was a good girl." I kept my mouth shut. About 15 or 20 minutes later, she said "... when I was a student, you didn't live with your boyfriend." Times are changing.

OK, my past history with ladyboys aside (!), I don't think I'd have too many problems convincing most (non-racist) white women that many Thai men *are* attractive. Also, as Flash mentioned, the concept of the 'sweet mouth' is well known in Thailand - I remain surprised that they will fall for it, but then there's one born every minute.

 

PS isn't one of the recurring themes in many nightlife-related forums the horror of seeing so many Farang women turning up in the LOS, including P4P venues that were long the sole province of Farang males and Isaan sex workers ? I seem to recall some mention of BBW Farang women availing themselves of Thai guys for a few baht, and the pink dollar also seems to go a long way in places like Patts - I don't think I need to say any more re the relative attractiveness of some Thai guys. Its weird, because I dont consider the males from neighbouring countries to be anything 'special' in the looks department, and I continually marvel at how Chinese women can be so beautiful and their male counterparts so unremarkable. I missed the 80s through work commitments but during the 70s I spent time in North Queensland which was full of wannabe hippies at the time.

Everyone was having congress with as many people as possible and I've come to the conclusion it's not the people but the place that causes promiscuity.

 

Sure there's always a few hard core nymphos around but get the good girls in party mode and anything goes!

When I was 22 I would lie, cheat, shmooze, whatever -- to get laid. And then that was it. Adios Amiga. There are a few women I would apologize to if I had the chance. Dead serious.

 

People that meet online seem to have an accelerated courtship when they hook up in person, probably because a lot of the 'getting to know you' stuff has already been done.

 

And there are definitely guys that go to great lengths and devote resources to setting up these elaborate 'relationships' just so they can get laid. Dude, that happens everywhere all the time. People are getting more sophisticated and skeptical in the West with the online hook ups, as they should.

 

Note: Posting pictures of these girls as trophies on the internet is fucked up. Very fucked up. Hopefully they'll receive a little karmic retribution in kind.

 

Edit: I'm talking about posting pictures of these gals who think the guy is in love with them and see him as a knight in shining armor.

 

Bar girls who actually want their picture taken is different. Not my thing, but don't have a problem with it.

 

I'd much prefer encounters with a bar girl than one creating a wholly deceptional 'relationship' to get laid. Dave, the issue here isnt whether you've bonked everything in Pattaya over a 3-month period (!) and posted 15GB of pics/vids/whatever, its the notion that Thai women over the age of 20 are still 'naive' - I dont believe they are, but I defer to those who have more contact with women who dont necessarily start fondling your wallet the instant you make eye contact. Unless these women dont go to clubs etc, I simply cant see how they can wide-eyed innocents. Sure, there will always be smooth talkers who can worm their way into a stranger's heart, but I dont buy the notion that they cant see it coming. As for unprotected sex - seriously, its 2011 and they still aren't teaching this stuff in Thai schools ?? They should be handing out condoms in 'all Thai' clubs the way they periodically do in Walking St bars.

I have never seen or even heard of a sex education class in Thai schools. The parents would probably be outraged. So many of the Thai BGs have a kid - and as soon as they had it, their Thai "Prince Charming" probably did a runner on them. Safe sex to them meant close the curtains.

 

And it is not just the BGs. Plenty of single mothers are working in factories, as maids etc in Bangkok - their kid(s) being raised by grandma back in Moo Barn Buffalo Poop. I have seen the forms the schools send home to be signed. Where we would expect them to say parent or guardian, the Thai forms will say something like whoever-the-fuck-is-raising-this-kid.

 

BTW there was a young guy on Nanaplaza in the early years who admitted he was after virgins, told he had done it 3 times so far. He would work in a small city and befriend one of the local damsels. He would persist until she thought he was serious and surrendered her innocence to him. He claimed it was really exciting when he finally got one. He'd shag them for a few months, then quit his job and move somewhere else.
