gobbledonk
Hope it turns around by December - still dont know how the bars survive in those really low seasons. Adds creedence to the claims that many of them are purely money-laundering opportunities, but surely you still need customers for that to work ?? dave32
I just wonder how they stay afloat in Chiang Mai. The bar scene there redefined my conception of 'laid-back.' I can't remember how many bars where I was the sole customer, with maybe one or two locals nursing the same drink for a couple hours. Of course a lot of backpackers seemed to start circling around like vultures around closing time -- fishing for freebies? It's a crazy mixed-up world. gobbledonk
Ironic that the 'low-low season' comments made so recently have been turned on their head by the floods, although it seems that bar owners/employees may be no better off.
