I only raise this because respect for pollies in Oz is as low historically as it has been since the Rum Rebellion. I look around at places like Greece, Italy, France and the UK and wonder if anywhere else is any better off - endless scandals, corruption and backroom deals with the likes of Murdoch. I also get the distinct impression that the Republicans have shot themselves in the foot before they even get to the Presidential Election - Obama looks a lot happier than he did 12 months ago. Even if he does get the heave-ho, will his replacement be any better ? The main criteria for becoming President seems to be access to about a billion dollars in campaign funding .... IF one knocks on my door i just ask a simple question 'would you vote for hanging of a convicted criminal?' if they say no,then i close the door,if they say yes,then i close the door. i have my own opinions on the matter as some have been hanged then found innocent and others who deserve to hang spend their lives in prison. and while i think of it but off topic. Years ago my Mum invited a couple of Jehova witnesses into the house. she made them a cup of tea and just said said she had something that had been posted trough the door a couple of days earlier and said it came in an envelope saying it was from the Mormons. she put on a porn movie which soon had them running,no visits after that.
