Mekong
I can understand Suicide and Homicide but how do they work out figures for "Accident" forgive me for being naive but if there were no guns how could an accidental death occur? Also what is "Other" what other cause of gun death is there apart from Suicide, Homicide or Accident, gotta love statistics
Redbaron
Other includes "legal intervention" and "undetermined" deaths (from the link). Accident means just that. You are right, if there are no guns then there would be no accidental shootings, but like I posted, we still have a lot of guns in Oz, it is just regulated a bit better now. cavanami
Confirmed: Aurora shooter James Holmes was on prescription meds and vaccines http://www.naturalnews.com/038629_James_Holmes_prescription_meds_vaccines.html What was the most deadly element involved in the mass murder of 12 people and the wounding of 58 others at the packed Aurora, Colo., theater premier of the newest “Batman†movie last summer? Was it the AR-15-type weapon used by James Holmes? The shotgun he had with him? The handgun he used? No. As it turns out it was probably a psychotropic medication he was most likely taking, a point raised by Natural News’ Jon Rappoport in August, just weeks after the massacre... Mekong
Well I have to disagree, I am on psychotropic medication for my Bi Polar disorder and never once have I ever considered walking into a movie complex armed with an AR-15 type weapon and shooting the place up. Typical NRA bullshit IMHO!
Flashermac
But you are reasonably normal on or off medication, well sort of anyway.
Mekong
To be honest I am more Manic than depressed even though I do suffer bouts of depression now and again I am sure that they are on par with any average joe, but I do tend to get carried away having a good time. A couple of examples are once I was out in the UK on a friends stag night five days later I woke up in a prison cell in Portugal another is when I first came to SE Asia in 1988, a the time i was married in UK with kids and struggling to make ends meet and Asia opened my eyes, I just never returned to the UK since then. Now I am on medication i have it more under control but I still have to be careful when socialising, I will only go out with my partner or to meet mutual friends, if I was to "Fly Solo" there is no telling where I may end up or what will happen, lets just say that on numerous occasions in the past I have spent time with some unsavoury characters consuming illegal narcotics for days on end thinking I was having a good time and not considering the consequences, fortunately those days are in the past now. Flashermac
I have a low PTSD disability rating from the Veterans Administration. I'm trying to get it increased a bit. Probably every combat vet has some degree of anxiety and depressing the rest of his life. It tends to make one drink more than one should.

Flashermac
But it distracts from the crusade against firearms.
cavanami
I posted only one instance of the bad side effects of some of the meds. I read that *** all *** these shooters were on some type of meds but very little is ever said about it. Everyone wants to pop a pill to fix this that and the other thing...me too! but it really doesn't work that way ...and it is not the NRA that is touting this.
