  1. Liveleak has broken some stories in the past well before everyone else. But for four hours no other sites seem to be picking this up......is this BS? http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=242_1439936530 Also on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSv9uCDDeVA
  2. I don't take it in a negative way and don't think you should either. Hope you both continue to post..
  3. It says something about Los Angeles and the whole Hollywood culture.
  4. It is possible....not great odds...but possible the US could pull back from the course we are on. Rand Paul announces....
  5. That is precisely the problem with art. The value is rarely understood until the artist is dead....decades from now we'll all be saying "Yeah, panadol was a mate of mine. We were close. Wish more people understood his message when he was still alive."
  6. What ever happened to Nok? I don't recall how that ended...or if it did end....but always wanted to see a huge mansion with pillars in the woods.
  7. That is a very good way to put it. Not just Thai but all the Asian women I've been involved with. Might even apply to western women but will leave that to others as I have no experience. Micro-management does not work. General Patton commented on his men but it also applies to realtionships- essentially "don't tell them what to do. Tell them what needs to be done and they will amaze you with their ingenuity."
  8. Yes!!! I really want Thai360 to survive as well. Trying to do my part by making posts that I think will be of general interest as I no longer live in Thailand and usually only transit. Thai360 keeps me in touch and it makes the pain of waiting for a connecting flight hurt a bit less. What you could do is have sex with hot women and then post about it. I mean REALLY hot women. Are you willing to do that? Is that a sacrifice you are willing to make? I would if I could.....
  9. Locating someone is really not at all difficult for lawyers. zzzz put it correctly...if they aren't willing to do the work based on success it might not be worth doing. Asking you to pay upfront says a lot about their confidence in a recovery. Haven't used lawyers in Thailand in years now but it would always start with payment per hour or case...as you say no thanks and prepare to leave some want to charge for a consultation. Maybe half if you aren't referred by someone. So try to get referred by someone. Make it clear from the beginning that you aren't interested in/don't need a consultation. All you want to know is what percentage they want of what is recovered. It will vary from maybe 20% on up to 40%. I would not go more than 25% at the max! Unless you can't find anyone else... The person Mac mentioned above could be just what you need.
  10. Credit to Stickman for keeping it going this long! Credit to KS for keeping NanaPlaza-Thai360 going for this long! I know I couldn't do it and doubt most of us could...
  11. One of the regrrets I'll have for the rest of my life was ignoring our vets "strong" suggestion. It sure is an absence. Condolences.
  12. Whoa!!! This is great!!!! Really happy to see you back......you made some great posts some years back.
  13. Think she waited for sure...just could not go out without saying goodbye to you. The ability of dogs to sense our mood and emotions is really amazing as is the loyalty. The Hachiko story is a great one and I think every dog has this to some degree...the more the person likes the dog the greater the loyalty. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachik%C5%8D The sad part is that people really did not like the dog showing up each day for some years and Hachiko was actually taking risk in showing up for the same train at the same time. For years and years and years... Fiery Jack probably knows more about this story as it is possible to drink enough in Shibuya to actually mistake the Hachiko statue for a urinal...20 to 25 drinks in.
  14. Condolences Jack.. It is hard!
  15. KS, My deepest sympathies! Losing a dog is in some ways harder than losing a person. Had our dog a similar length of time and it is painful - console yourself with the fact that he did not seem to suffer. The thing that I regret with my dog is the veterinarian said it really wasn't fair to keep him alive as it was going to end so painfully for him. It sure did and I will regret it the rest of my life! Dogs seem to know when it is coming. Anyway, condolences. Hard for people who don't have dogs to understand.
  16. I was just told so pasted the link.. He knew so many people on this board surprised nobody heard it or posted it if they had.
  17. What I really admired about him was after his daughter became so famous he changed clothing a bit, suits more often, but his personality remained the same. In the mid-80s I was somewhere near Victory Monument trying to get a taxi and Wanchai pulled saw me and pulled over. Did not know him well then. Spent a while driving around listening to the Doors. Will never forget that....you can't just drop someone off when "Riders on the Storm" is starting. Used to see him at his apt in Patpong and run into him at his house in Bang Na a few times a year for many, many, many years. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone and was a sincerely positive person. Now I regret the last time he and I talked I did not tell him what a sincerely good person I thought he was.
  18. Thanks very much for posting that...I would have missed it otherwise.
  19. FBF has received word that Tim “Wanchai†Young has passed away. A resident of Bangkok for almost 40 years, Tim died peacefully on Monday evening. Randy and others from Goldfingers were alerted and called the medics but nothing could be done. The cremation is planned for Tuesday, August 13 at a temple in Chaeng Wattana, northern Bangkok. We don’t know complete plans yet but there may be a bus leaving from Goldfinger that morning and I’m sure there will be a wake of sorts at the Finger that evening. Latest word is that folks are coming from Chiang Mai, Udon, Sakhon Nakhon, Pattaya, and the US. It might be a good time to remember Tim and reunite with some old friends. [update]: It appears that there will be a prayer service at the temple on Sunday, aimed mainly at Farangs, and there will be a wake at Goldfingers on Tuesday after the cremation. Tim’s eulogy may be found here. More here as we learn. RIP Tim. You will be missed. If anyone has a photo of Tim, please pass it to me and I’ll put it here. Ideally, of him sitting there in the corner… http://www.frangipani.com/wordpress/tim-young/#.UjlWAD-4ncs
  20. Mac, Do a search for Michael Savage. He has a talk show in the US and a few years ago it was one of the more popular. Interviewed the Israeli PM many times on the radio and has been a staunch supporter of Israel. Even banned from the UK for talking about bombing Mecca. For years he sounded like a Likud Party spokesman. The rush to war for Israel in Syria is so blatantly obvious to him he said: "Dr. MICHAEL SAVAGE 5th Ranked Radio Show Host in US , Author On Syria: "Who’s behind this? Who’s pushing it? Well I suspect that it was Israel all along. "It’s Israel pushing the United States – and England and France and Italy and Germany — to strike Assad. "What we know is true is that Israel is deeply involved in the war drum beating,..... Israel is "pulling Obama’s strings," "If you can get America and France and Italy and Germany to act for you and they're foolish enough to risk a third world war, why not? Put your own interests ahead of the world, what do you care?" "I'm sick of this slavish worship of Israel. No, it's America first and Israel's the tail, not the dog. We're the dog, they're the tail. And I'm sick and tired of America being yanked around like we're the tail and they're the dog.....Whoever put him (Obama) in power wants their payback." . The Michael Savage Show August 28, 2013"
