gobbledonk
I used to laugh at the girls putting plastic bags on their heads in a downpour - seems no-one ever thought of buying a hat or umbrella - but the Thais seem to be completely oblivious to how silly it looks - I guess the logic is that wet hair could mean getting sick, and that could mean losing your job/stall/whatever - fair enough. Flashermac
It is slightly better now, but not so many years ago it was virtually impossible to find an umbrella to buy during the rainy season. Any other time you'd see street vendors selling them everywhere. I could never figure out the logic of not offering them for sale in the rainy months of the year.
