The_Munchmaster
But the price going up wouldn't stop 7-11, Family Mart from selling it, they might sell a bit less of it but it would still sell so they would still stock it. Is it a case of suppliers hoarding the old stock so that they can sell it at a higher price? Has the price increase taken effect already?
huumlaar
I have heard but not seen there is some confusion over the taxation, hence the brewery isn't delivering until they know what's right.
limbo
On Samui there have issues since the tax change. Makro, Tesco Lotus and the like seem to be low on beer.
Flashermac
I decided to check the beer situation in my local Tops this afternoon. All that was available in the cooler was Acha and Cheers, the cheapest Thai suds that only serious alcoholics will drink. The shelf in the liquor section had a couple of bottles of San Miguel, plus some Heinecken, though there were also few bottles of Coopers, a drinkable Oz suds, if you were willing to pay the price. There definitely seems to be a drought in the beer scene. .
