TTM - I definitely didn't have $100 at the time, had more but not that much, could only afford a few drinks in a bar, so mostly bought bottles.

 

It was about them, not about you. They knew they can't reach beyond 100-200 mark on anything, just squander whatever little they had to look good. That's what I call a "scarcity mentality".

OK understand your point, but I think we all do that, or maybe it was hospitality, who knows, I prefer to think people, usually at the lower economic scale tend to be more generous, than those at the other end.
