Thailand’s cabinet approved a 364.5 baht ($11 billion) budget for the remainder of the year to create jobs and boost incomes to spur economic growth, even as the central bank said a broad-based recovery hasn’t taken hold.

 

Of the budget, 23 billion baht will be spent in repairing schools, government buildings and roads, and 40 billion baht will go to rice farmers to help them cope with low prices, Deputy Prime Minister Pridiyathorn Devakula said today in Bangkok after a cabinet meeting. The government will also speed up approvals for 380 projects worth 429.2 billion baht and quicken investment spending for fiscal 2014 and 2015...
