cavanami
Our "accountant" here at the office insists that when you drive your vehicle for company business that the reimbursement rate is 5 Baht/Km and if a higher rate is paid, it will be subject to taxes that you will have to pay. Doing a Google and even on the Thai Tax office government website, no info. A report from 2009 gave the rates from 4 to 8 Baht/Km and that was 6 years ago! Now costs have risen; fuel, road tax, insurance, maintenance, etc so I expect the rate to be higher. There have been discussions on Thaivisa but all dated years ago. I sent a question to Stickman for his legal eagles, but I have not seen it submitted (is Stick still around?). Can anyone point me to the official rate/website? radioman
Presumably your accountant has a copy? 6 years is not a long time (in Thailand). Taxi rates have remained static much longer.
cavanami
> Presumably your accountant has a copy? :rotl: :rotl: Good joke! From what I read on some blogs, this is folk lore and *** if *** the accountants would ask for the specifics, they would find out that the 5 Baht/Km is total BS...TIT ...thus, I will have to dig up the info myself
radioman
If they cannot provide the info themselves, or where it is documented, I fail to see how they can state what it is.
cavanami
In Thai tradition, they continue on with the folk lore...much easier then actually doing work to get the facts!
Pom Michael
8 baht per km for me.
cavanami
Do your account people have a reference to the Thai tax office as to why they pay 8 Baht? Do you have to include any of the 8 Baht in to your personal income, for Thai tax purposes?
