It may not work on this board, but everything is possible. So if anyone has ever had anything happy happen to them in Thailand, won the lottery, got married to a lovely lady recently, bought a new car, had promotion in work, good service somewhere, had a great birthday party, told by the doctor their not going to die anytime soon etc .... the list is endless, but you have the idea, you can post here. The crowds that are turning out to the Thai Village have raised hopes that it will be successful in winning the best popular vote and in being named the best Pavilion, Akavut Tangsilikusolwong, managing director of Vega Intertrade and Exhibitions LLC [Dubai] said. This year's Thai Village is on the theme "Unique Treasure of Thailand". The event, which kicked off in November last year and runs through April this year is the largest trade and cultural fair in the Middle Eastern region. The Global Village is spread over 1.6 million square metres and is expected to welcome six million visitors from all over the world. "The Thai Pavilion this year has more than 250 entrepreneurs and 120 booths showcasing such signature Thai products as clothes, jewellery and food as well as Thai massage and spa," Akavut said. It is expected to generate more than Bt700 million of income for the country. "We were lucky to obtain a new location right in the middle of the international village, which is a centre for businessmen and for visitors as it is near food stalls, the main stage and the Fun Land," he said. The Thai Village is more outstanding than in previous years, as it showcases Thai architecture and a replica of the Royal Palace. It has proved popular as a onestop visit as it provides visitors with information about Thai businesses, has a large scale Thai massage venue as well as Thai traditional arts and dances. Thai language teaching, umbrella painting and the booths offerings traditional Thai dishes and desserts," have been the biggest attractions, Akavut said. Visitors to the Thai Village are encouraged to take part in a special promotion campaign to win a trip to Thailand. Another highlight is a medical trip, where winners receive free medical checkups in hospitals joining the campaign. The Thai Village in Dubai is supported by the public and private sectors of both Thailand and Dubai. Sponsors include the Thai Trade Representative in Dubai, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Consulate General in Dubai. Vega Intertrade and Exhibitions LLC (Dubai) has been charged with setting up the Thai Village since 2003. At the time the exhibition covered a mere 1,500 square metres and had only 41 operators. Dubai is the United Arab Emirate's financial, trade and travel centre and a major partner of Thailand in the Middle East.
