New Petchburi Pete
I wasn't sure if this question should be placed here or under General Discussion. Any comments, info., etc. from those with experience or general knowledge about this? We are seriously thinking of moving to the Pattaya area (not where the big night scene is). ALHOLK
Hi! I have a friend there that says he can live comfortably on less than 40 000 baht/month. Ofcoures he has a Thai wife and a condo that is payed for and doesn't go out a lot. regards ALHOLK
Steve
Pete I was wondering the same thing. I plan on spending several months in LOS and split time between the two. I'm working on a budget of what it'll be. If budgets are like budgets for any thing else, I'll probably end up spending twice as much. I would think housing would be the most expensive. Also, incidentals (if you call BGs incidental) but a live in can reduce that amount and I'd bet the 'scene' gets old fast after you spend a long time there. Guest
I think the cost of living would have to be cheaper in Pattaya once you've located the inexpensive restaurants and/or have GF shop and cook for you. It's easy and cheap to get around on the baht buses once you get them figured out and housing must be a better value. I think that just the ease of getting around is worth a lot in itself. Also the expressway to Bangkok makes it easy to go to the big city for just a day trip if need be. Check out the Pattaya Mail classifieds for ideas in housing costs. Good Luck.
