buffalo_bill
Hawaiijohn, if you are really serious about your Buddhas, I do recommend to have a look at the Oriental Place which is between New Road and the Oriental Hotel. This place has become one of the centres for highest quality Asian antiques and is sometimes not that expensive. Although mostly it is. I have been there many times and although completely anti-religious I am always somehow touched just by looking at these peaceful images. You would also find plenty of Khmer-statues. This building has been made for making money but the athmoshere is more church-like. Please go there. Following Raven's post take the Skytrain to Taksin-bridge , but then wait for the Oriental-boat which is free and you travel in style, every 15 minutes. After the Oriental Place the River City is 15 minutes walk or you take the shuttlebus from the Oriental every hour. cheers
