JJsushi
Anyone know of a good restaurant that specializes in Isaan edibles? I am not looking for street stalls either. Thanks in advance

Old Hippie
Falang, I'll take a copy of that map as well if you can JJ, I like Vientiane Kitchen on Ssoi 36, about 75 meters walk from Sukhumvit. I also like old Siam on Soi 23, just off Soi cowboy. Bot offer Issan and Lao food, both are very good and very nice decor. I will check out the other places as well. If anyone can, could they mention a few entrees as I want to know what the more unusual stuff on the menu is!!
Guest
Cafe De Laos has excellent Isaan food & atmosphere, but might be a little high end; say 200+ baht a head and is frequented primarily by well to do Thai's. Farang/BG couples sometimes are there, but I feel slightly uncomfortable bringing a BG there unless she is well dressed and presented. It's in the Silom area. Here is a link with review & address: Cafe De Laos

Falang
Forgot to say that at the Krua Thailao you can eat inside or outside and they have a band with Isaan music and dancing (Pong-Lang) very nice. The Isaan ladies : :: who were with us very enjoy the food and the music.
