"Y" - What does it mean?

I'm having a problem looking up this little word?

Someone said something about putting food in their mouth,

"Y phak." or "Wai phak."

I said I didn't want to eat now but wanted to put the food in the refrigerator. She said I could say, "Ow sai y nai dtoo yen." What is the word for word translation of that?

Thanks,

GG

äÇé (wai) In general it means 'to place' or 'to put' but it is one of those words that will shift meaning depending on context and when used in association with other words. Here are a few common ones.

à¡çºäÇé (gep wai) - put away, keep hidden etc

½Ò¡äÇé (fahk wai) - put under care/safekeeping

ãËéäÇé (hai wai) - give

and so on....
