buffalo_bill
Gentlemen , not sure if I should have posted this in the travel section but vaguely assuming that the Thai woman follows similar mecanics like the other women I just want to know : what is the Thai word for PERIOD ? Thank you BuBi
Guest
I think it's something like 'mense', most commonly used...i presume you mean menstruation, right? Not sure what travel has got to do with it...my dictionary says the proper term is bpra-jam-duan, but 'mense' seems to suffice most of the time. I presume an alarming episode is not about to ensue? I also presume you are wanting the word for menstruation and not a full stop or time 'period'
elef
My swedish-thai dictionary says mi rab duan, the english-thai the same as zombies, but if you're in thai-farang cicles most use period and some mens.
buffalo_bill
What it has to do with travelling is easily explained : I stumble out if the international aeroplane , lovely Nok waits at the gate and I give the driver 500 baht speed surcharge saying : rush us to the hotel , brother , and Nok says : No hully teelak , Im have the bpra-jam-du . That's what it has to do with travelling . BuBi Anyhow , thank you for your help
samak
men as common used word (don't pronounce it with rising tone as this means "smell bad"), comes from the word menstruation. a bit more vulgar is fai daeng (red light!) formal and polite is prajam duean (literally normal monthly)
Dumsoda
B_B, Travelling is all about "Planning"..lol My Outlook Calendar has a "5 Day Meeting" cut and pasted into every Month of 2007. The only issue of any concern to me is, if suddenly, one of the upcoming "meetings" is cancelled...55555 Cheers DS
