waerth
For two days already I get the mict.gov screen with the king if I try to go to Youtube. Since when is this site a danger to the kingdom. I have True btw. Wonder if people with other ISP's also suffer from this. Waerth
Pom Michael
Yes, same here. Crazy. Wait til Google hears about this, maybe finally some press will notice how restrictive (and stupid) Thailand's internet censorship can be. Ok, who has those STEP by STEP instructions for Torpark on a USB thumbdrive???
khunsanuk
Hi, I am on True as well, but just checked and can access youtube.com just fine. Sanuk!
Neo
But aren't you using something or another to get around censorship? I am on true and youtube is directed to the censored page and this is new! What's next?

Neo
Well gee, why not just block the whole darn internet, wouldn't that be easier thing to plonk? You would think any sensible person would do what everyone else already does, notify youtube that a particular submission has violated the terms of use and they will promptly remove it: you will not: submit material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or is otherwise inappropriate
khunsanuk
Hi, I went to youtube.com rather than www.youtube.com. The one without www. still works, with www. I to get redirected. Sanuk!
khunsanuk
Hi, "Wait til Google hears about this, maybe finally some press will notice how restrictive (and stupid) Thailand's internet censorship can be." Wouldn't really hold my breath as far as Google doing something about this is concerned. They had no problems censoring their search content for China, so I think they can hardly be considered pro freedom of speech. Sanuk!
elef
Yesterday evening it was on the news program that a judge in a country (I think it was Turkey) had ordered ISPs to block youtube as somebody had published material which could have effect on a trial. I think there exist court orders in some more countries with the same result.
coops1967
Ok, who has those STEP by STEP instructions for Torpark on a USB thumbdrive??? Download a copy or get it emailed to you ;-) I use one by 'Hacktivismo' i think they're called - runs on a firefox web browser base. Usually get it as a zip file. Unzip it (duh ;-)) then go thru the directories til u reach the torpark.exe file - run it /double click on it. Wait. It may tike a while to set up it's tor network. When ready it launches the mozilla type browser automatically. Keep the files on your laptop or thumb drive - whatever. It runs from the .exe file, so no installation needed (do need to keep all the other files that get unzipped in their usual directories). Am using it now to post this - my True DSL connection seems all f@cked up again..... cannot connect to most web sites this morning. Interestingly, recently many previously blocked sites were available directly (ie unblocked) probably due to True gettting their own int'l web connections... coops
