The_Munchmaster
Showing your ignorance again Teddy. West Ham station is not named after West Ham FC. Anyway the station for West Ham FC is Upton Park.
The_Munchmaster
Should that not read in London instead of England? No. London, Glasgow and Newcastle are the only UK cities with underground (tube) systems and other than Arsenal no stops on these underground systems are named after a football team, therefore CS is correct. Gillespie Road was renamed Arsenal (Highbury Hill) in 1932 and then Arsenal in 1960 even though the station just so happens to be the closest to the old ground and not actualy there. Not actually there?! It's a very short walk away from both Highbury and The Emirates Stadium. Anyway, no matter how close or far away it is it was renamed because of Arsenal Football Club. Nice of you to remind me of the Newcaste Metro. St James is named after the ground not the club but there is a Station on the system called SUNDERLAND Newcastle Metro Map
The_Munchmaster
Which is named Sunderland because it's located in Sunderland city centre, eff all to do with the football club. The station for Sunderland FC is presumably the one called Stadium of Light?
Mekong
5555555 No the stadium where Roker Park was is caled Sunderland, Staduium of Light stadium was a new one built specificaly to service the ground. So Arsenal have an old Station renamed whereas Newcastle and Sunderland each have stations built at the grounds and named after them/ At least we have a Private Train Station and not a Public undergrounf station at United Beat That ! The_Munchmaster
....So Arsenal have an old Station renamed whereas Newcastle and Sunderland each have stations built at the grounds and named after them.... Named after their grounds, not named after them. You can build something new and call it whatever you want but to have the name of something existing changed in your honour, well that's just class. The only reason you have a private station is because Man U fans aren't allowed on public transport. P.S. Where does this private train line start? South coast of England? The_Munchmaster
What about Wimbledon Feck all to do with the now extinct Wimbledon FC. More likely to have been named after the Wombles back yard!
