cavanami
Any ideas for a decent/cheap hotel in Singapore? I was thinking the Garden Hotel off the upper end of Orchard Road, but they appear to have gotten pricey...120 Sing$
cavanami
To answer my own question... The Garden Hotel is gone. Was 122 $ing a night. Good enough place. Went to the RELC Hotel. Booked it online but for like 160 $ing bu when I checked in, all those rooms were taken, so had t go with a 199 $ing room and no free breakfast. A quick look on the internet and will move to the Royal Hotel, 177 Sing/night, near Newton MRT station, so OK. End up paying more for the fakin hotels then I did for the airfare! ...such is Sillypore...

danno6
I stayed at the Ibis on Bencoolen last year..it was reasonably priced - I think aroudn $120S(small but modern rooms) - last time I looked was last July/August when the price was closer to $200S (but national day/youth olympics, etc at same time). You get a better rate at the Ibis if you book online rather than a walk in, todays rate is showing at S$208 yet I got it for S$95 when I booked online last week. I have been here 4 nights now and another 5 to go. If all you require is a basic clean modern room with no frills and staff who don't bat an eyelid when you walk in at 3AM with three of Orchard Towers finest then you cannot go wrong with the Ibis. Horneytorney
I am now in Sillypore! it sucks! and hotel rates are now ridiculously high...all the gamblers coming to Singapore's casino
exit2dos
Yeah it does suck. The only way to save on hotels is to book on Expedia or that kind of site. Geylang is kind of cool for a couple of days and California Fitness sells a 24 hr pass for $35. Nice club. I wouldn't go there unless to see a concert.
