Club One

I checked out Club One briefly last night (Sat. about 8:00 pm), I don't remeber seeing a sign outside, but their are a couple of hello girls who will invite you in. Just walk about 300 meters along Soi 1, it's on the East side of the street. If you reach the hospital, you have gone too far.

The place in not finished yet - the ground, first and second floors are done but they are working on the floors above. Ground floor has a bar, TV showing porn, billards tables. first floor has semi-private rooms with couch, second floor has short-time rooms with mirror on the ceiling.

There were about 6 to 8 girls in the bar, average to good looking. They gave me a tour of the place and said they were open for business, even thought there was ongoing work in the upper floors. I asked the price of a ST, they said for now it is 'up to you' (don't you love it when they say that?), but after the place is fully in operation, it will be 2,000 Baht.

I popped in there and had a chat with Ricky during the week and it looks very nice. So heres some additional info on that already dished out.

He was telling us of some of the problems he has had to overcome to get it open - police - builders - girls etc etc. some are quite funny.

you arent allowed supposed to see the porn on the wall tvs' on the ground floor but you can from the first floor for example ( even though they are fixed into wall supports ). No poles or straps for the girls to hang onto - if there were they would be a gogo bar, different licence and all that.

The diddling rooms are now open for ANY business you agree with the girls.

One point that may trip him up though, Ricky is quite exact on who he wants to be his customer. In his words, he doesnt want the "tourist" he wants the "expat" community. If he means the beer bellied flip flop wearing tourist fair enough, but Tourist is a big customer lable to exclude. A lot of tourists will have more money to spend than the expats. Also I wouldnt have thought the expat community would have been big enough to support the business.

Anyway, best of luck to him.

I feel a resurgence of the How Much Is Too Much debate coming on. I'm not paying 2000 for a Short Time when there are cheaper and acceptable alternatives around. True, I went to Eden to check it out, but Eden seems unique, in a class of its own, and so far this new place does not sound like a threat to Eden. To me Eden's is reserved for special occasions anyway. Otherwise, I'll gladly settle for a normal BG on Soi Cowboy, or even my usual Lovely Lass at Star of Light (where I can have 3 or 4 STs for the price of 1 at Club One).

Remember, there are many of us who will change bars because of a 100-baht increase in the price of a BF, or a rise in drink prices to 110 baht. Are THESE the people he's wanting to target???

"Why does,nt he just stipulate a dress code? "

Absolutely!

One thing that really pisses me off is drinking a beer with some fat bastards greasy, hairy armpit in my face!

Some people just don't get it... shorts, flipflops and cut down T-shirts are NOT acceptable attire in Bangkok.

If that's the crowd he wants to exclude, then good luck to him!

Y,

I have to agree with regarding attire.

when my friends come to visit me here in BKK they all seem to think this is an Island and shorts & sandals (socks or no socks) are the normal attire.

I try to explain to them, but they always say, it's just too hot for pants!
