gawguy
I'm thinking of taking some money out of a Thai bank account and using it in USA. I don't like the idea of carrying cash. Is there a way to do a transfer now - bank to bank. That's how I got the money to TLand, however the last time I asked about this I was told that isn't possible. I don't suppose they'll issue a check that I can deposit in US. I remember something once said about using Pay Pal. How do you do this without really getting clobbered on exchange rates? Thanks, Gaw Guy
jitagawn
I see no reason you should not be able to wire funds back to the USA from your Thai bank...
Dexi
Via ATM ,most Thai debit cards work abroad, there will be a fee,of course.
Flashermac
Ask your bank. Years ago I had a Brit colleague who had a Bangkok Bank account here and another in London. He could transfer money back and forth with no problems. Of course, that was within the same bank's system.
Guest
As long as under $50,000 no problem to wire out to another bank account, as long as you have the unique international identification of the receiving bank.
Steve
Rather than start another thread, wondering about transferring TO a Thai bank. While I know pretty much any bank will accept wire transfers, I want to know which one seems to have the best service? Great if it has good online wire transfers, etc. I am going to be in the kingdom and have some money I need wired to me (long story). I'd prefer a bank that had a good, acceptable ATM system and as previously stated, ability to wire online.

JaiRai
Used Bangkok Bank New York branch before (to transfer from a credit union into bangkok bank account), no issue. Funds made available within a few days, in Bangkok. http://www.bangkokbank.com/BangkokBank/PersonalBanking/DailyBanking/TransferingFunds/TransferringIntoThailand/ReceivingFundsfromUSA/Pages/ReceivingFundsfromUSA.aspx
