What the hotels do is not the problem...the problem is that Thailand Pass wants to see a covid test included in the hotel reservation! Stilll no Thailand Pass and I fly out of here Monday....if they let me on the plane without the Thailand Pass... No stress here 55555555555555555555555

The Novotel airport hotel couldn't find my reservation with the reservation number that they gave me,,,WTF So go online, make another reservation and request a letter for Thailand Pass that states I will have a covid test at the hotel. The letter they originally sent me did not state anything about the covid test so I was rejected for the Thailand Pass...errrrrr does the left hand know what the right hand is doing???? I fly out on Monday and still dealing with all the BS... Plan B, fly to Malaysia and take the train to Bangkok!!!

Only now, Thailand Pass tells me I need a hotel reservation (which I have) with a covid test AT THE HOTEL...hello, I get a covid test before I leave the USA, my transfer flight at Narita Japan wants to see my covid test plus they do a full on security check now...WTF...I get off one plane and on to another and need a full security check???

Now over one week and no TP or communication...great system....not!!!! Plan B, fly to Penang, Malaysia and take the train to Bangkok.

Lucky you! I am waiting 7 days now and will depart tomorrow hell or high water! If necessary, I will change to a flight to Penang, Malaysia and enter Thailand by boat as you don't need the Thai Pass!!!

Kong, I know and understand what you are saying. For me, I deal with small businesses and they just want their machine to spit out the widget when they press the button. They have little interest to update their machine software/controller as long as they produce their widgets. I would be pleased to give them updates but the costs involved, machine downtime, etc makes it unappealing to them. My new HP printer/scanner...the interface software sucks. Yes, it's the latest and the greatest but for the operator, me, it makes functions slower then my old XP based scanner. All updates are not good...can you say Win 8? I completely skipped that one.

Yes, there are large benefits, usually, with running the latest and greatest. My printer is sick so I run out and buy another...HP2722, cheap enough but guess what, the HP driver doesn't work in XP. On this PC I have the work around to boot up with my Win 7 so all is well. I have another PC using Win 10, which I was not impressed with and now they have Win 11? I hate being a slave to Microsoft and all the others but it is what it is. I'm still waiting on my Thai Pass so I think someone board mentioned that they got theirs in 15 minutes...maybe, but looks to be no more. No matter, as long as the flight doesn't get canceled I'm going and see what it takes to get back...

I did the Thai Pass and it was a pain but I did it from square 1 with nothing prepared. I did the insurance, hotel, etc online. Easy to find an online converter to make the jpg files/docs they want.

OK, managed to get a flight to the USA to see the family. Now I am looking at the hoops that I must jump thru... I take it I can get a covid test at the BKK airport before I depart as it is required to enter the USA? I have my covid passport from the hospital here in Thailand, so I hope they will accept that as proof of vaccination? Any other surprises?

Good info. I am trying to make a dash to the USA and back in less then two weeks avoiding the Xmas holidays. I am lacking the covid insurance, which is easily fixed at a cost of 2 -3000 baht and the 1 day at the hotel. The hotel is a pain but it is what it is. My sister works at the Dallas airport and can advise me about getting PCR test upon departure. Usually I bring back frozen items, steaks, etc. but looks to be not an option this time, bummer. Being a lazy slug, I am looking at limo to the hotel and then enjoy my jet lag. 555
