  1. In NZ football refers to Rugby, soccer to the beautiful game. This is because Rugby is the more popular game, suited to the larger more muscly types, that NZ blokes tend to be. Soccer on the other hand is played by slimmer, 4 foot tall chaps, of which we don't have many.

  3. War Gear Flows to Police Departments NEENAH, Wis. — Inside the municipal garage of this small lakefront city, parked next to the hefty orange snowplow, sits an even larger truck, this one painted in desert khaki. Weighing 30 tons and built to withstand land mines, the armored combat vehicle is one of hundreds showing up across the country, in police departments big and small. The 9-foot-tall armored truck was intended for an overseas battlefield. But as President Obama ushers in the end of what he called America’s “long season of war,†the former tools of combat — M-16 rifles, grenade launchers, silencers and more — are ending up in local police departments, often with little public notice. During the Obama administration, according to Pentagon data, police departments have received tens of thousands of machine guns; nearly 200,000 ammunition magazines; thousands of pieces of camouflage and night-vision equipment; and hundreds of silencers, armored cars and aircraft. The equipment has been added to the armories of police departments that already look and act like military units. Police SWAT teams are now deployed tens of thousands of times each year, increasingly for routine jobs. Masked, heavily armed police officers in Louisiana raided a nightclub in 2006 as part of a liquor inspection. In Florida in 2010, officers in SWAT gear and with guns drawn carried out raids on barbershops that mostly led only to charges of “barbering without a license.†more..... http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/09/us/war-gear-flows-to-police-departments.html?_r=0 and so it goes
  4. "appeared at the Criminal Court Monday" With the coup in place, and thereto all the constitution etc not in place, the Criminal Court can still legally function?
  5. "pretty lame copycat" Whilst I am sorry for his troubles, isn't all Thai culture a "pretty lame copycat" of something else?
  6. I would suggest that all potato crisps that have a flavour, other than natural, have an artificial flavour. It's a powder that's coated on the crisps you see.
  7. Nothing wrong with her, even though I prefer 'thinner' girls, there's nothing wrong with her. If I had a bitch about this whole story it would be why are they all white? apart from a few outliers in Emporium, all the Thai's I have seen are not white. She's supposed to represent Thais, she should be at least slightly brown.
  8. "foreign unlicensed guides had damaged Thailand's reputation because they provided wrong information to Chinese tourists" No mention, of course that the foreigners are breaking the law by working in a reserved occupation, where is the mindset of these people?
  9. I'll book months in advance, I actually don't like travelling, I like being in places, so the bit with the bags and the taxis and the cattle class seats really is a pain.
  10. Only 17 ? I would suggest, only 17 per Soi, might be a more accurate number.
  11. Thank you gents, I was toying with the idea, as my iPhone 4 is now getting a little small for my eyesight, so I want to relegate it to phone status, I was thinking about one of these phablets for games and such, but as I have an iPad mini, maybe it'd be redundant. Was Micro$oft going to put out a 27" tablet? I wonder what happened to that...
  12. I may have my facts wrong, but my impression is thatThailand has amongst the highest, per student spend in the world, and really dismal results for that spend. Maybe they could follow the money.
  13. I'm toying with getting one of these http://tinyurl.com/n89wfbg My questions are: is it relatively easy to upgrade from 4.2 (Jelly Bean) to the next version on these devices? And are these $96 Phablets generally any good?

    Now that's what I need.
  15. Jesus, I'll stop using the term 'Feminazi' now. I always thought that a feminazi was a feminist with an undying hatred of males, particularly white and middle-aged ones. The true feminists who accomplished good things and still liked men, I thought, were exempt from this term's classification.

I had a look at the menu, any idea of prices?
  18. On a more serious cynical note, the latest fad here in the people's glorious republic, apart from having two or three phones, is a charger pack, the one I got MLG looks like Apple could'a made it. I guess it's to show that not only do you need multiple phones, because you're so popular, the level of discourse is such that they all need frequent recharging. I guess a multi sim phone is impractical
  19. I thought chewing gum was a right enshrined in the constitution, like talking very loudly and giving raucous high fives to everyone in the vicinity, for the most trivial of events, like, successfully opening a soft drink can.
  20. Not much point in getting one then, if someone's just gonna take it away.
  21. Mobile phones, quite useful, I'm thinking of getting one.
  22. mail virus that's been written wrong, and a mail server is sending delivery fail receipts back to you.
  23. Looks like Malware to me, not part of Opera.
