  1. Hi, "I wonder if they'll close down this forum." We should be fine as long as you don't post anything that will get us - or rather me - in trouble. Sanuk!
  2. Hi, Try doing that with a server outside of Thailand. I get 8Mb with a BKK server (wife is watching youtube ), but only half that when using a server outside of Thailand. Sanuk!
  3. Hi, Lots of this going on. When I was in the UK 2 years back, my business partner bought SIM card for his phone with a data plan (i.e. a certain amount of Mb of data for free). So, that evening he called his Mom using Skype for about 10 min only to find out all the money on the card had run out. It was all used up by data charges as the Internet part of the card didn't get activated until 24hrs *after* the phone calls part. Nobody had told him that bit of course. Sanuk!
  4. Hi, "that this is the first time in history that BB & I have ever agreed on ANYTHING" Yes, civilization as we know it will likely end within the next 24hrs Sanuk!
  5. Hi, Guys, while I disagree with most of Robaus' recent posts, he is not breaking any rules. Don't like what he has to say, ignore him. Sanuk!
  6. Hi, "In the latest strike on freedom of expression, a lone man reading George Orwell's anti-authoritarian novel "Nineteen Eighty-Four" was arrested on Sunday." To put that in perspective a bit, have a look at the corresponding picture here: http://www.chiangmaicitynews.com/news.php?id=4103 This was not 'just a man reading 1984', not when it looks like every journalist in town knew about it and was there to report it. Sanuk!
  7. Hi, "had to pay the mothers Bt1,800 a month for each child," That's renting, not buying. Anyway, doesn't change the fact the guy is scum, as is the mother for renting out her kids. Sanuk!
  8. Hi, The difference is of course that the farang gets arrested (and rightfully so), while all the Thai girls get away with it. Sanuk!
  9. Hi, All I can say to these people is 'som nom na'! Good on the authorities to crack down on this. Sanuk!
  10. Hi, "OK the odds on winning the Thai lottery may be higher but...................." Actually, the odds of the Thai lottery are pretty crap. You need at least the last 2 digits right to get anything. Sanuk!

Hi, I think you can pay extra to have a hidden listing. Seem to recall this when getting a domain name through GoDaddy. Don't recall the details though, sorry. Sanuk!
  12. Hi, "Because if nobody was seeking bribes from them, then no one would be able to accept bribes." Ah, so it is just the companies which are corrupt. Gov officials are not to blame. Sanuk!
  13. Hi, And this is a perfect example of a post that you could have done without posting. It makes no sense. Sanuk!
  14. Hi, "Police say they have not been able to continuously crackdown on traffic violators due to ongoing political protests." Bullshit! Sanuk!
  15. Hi, Yes, it is now written as fubar, but it started out as foobar. The access details for the superuser account on Unix IIRC. User 'foo' with password 'bar'. Sanuk!
  16. Hi, "it would be more like 24-25 ton per truck....." Could well be. Have really no idea. The 30 tonnes was the only figure I could quickly find. Sanuk!
  17. Hi, No need to stop posting, but perhaps you could chose your topics a bit better. Sanuk!
  18. Hi, "The Finance Ministry's auditing committee has reported that about 2.9 million tonnes of rice is missing, creating a huge loss for the country. " How the fuck do you lose 2.9 million tonnes of rice???? Only figure I could quickly find was 30 tonnes of rice per truck, which would mean we are talking about nearly 100,000 truckloads of rice being missing. Sanuk!
  19. Hi, "and why he/she should now go." Damn right. Inexcusable that the admin password on an ATM is left at the default setting. Very foobar (Wonder how many people get that reference.) Sanuk!
  20. Hi, Not familiar with that site, will check it out. Thanks. Sanuk!
  21. Hi, Sounds like someone tipped them off as I seriously doubt they could find such a miniscule amount in a normal/random search. So, yes, she likely pissed someone off pretty badly. Sanuk!
  22. Hi, "that's strictly because they are supported by and in concert with the elites and the palace," And how is that any different than the police totally ignoring the red shirts camps a few years earlier? Sanuk!
