  1. Hi, The main reason I have found is that they just don't give a fuck. Most of them say they want to learn, but when given the opportunity don't bother. What they really want is to go from no english to fluency overnight without any effort. Sanuk!
  2. Hi, "I have a friend who is not allowed to drive in the States because of epilepsy." Same for an uncle of mine. "In LOS I'd bet this guy never even mentioned it when he got his licence." Not sure if it had made any difference. Especially with him being a 'puu yai' and all. Sanuk!
  3. Hi, "which slows the cops from being able to, say, break up those ridiculous protest camps that dotted bangkok for so long - any reasonable city force would have resolved that issue much sooner" You mean like when the red shirts had their camps in the city for several months? Sanuk!
  4. Hi, Sounds like it has taken a major turn for the worst, so the question I have is "Why do you keep going back?" Sanuk!
  5. Hi, "she had 5mg of coke in with normal medications" How do you even detect that? Can dogs sniff an amount that small? Sanuk!
  6. Hi, "A judge at the court suggested that national interest should come first." Watching football/soccer is of 'national interest'? Sanuk!
  7. Hi, We have had Google Adsense for years, with declining returns, but it seems that they have banned us as they ads have stopped showing. Didn't get any notice from them though. Sanuk!
  8. Hi, Been using Amazon for years, but not getting any clicks for some time already. I think Western Union is part of Commission Junction, so can do if anyone here is using it. Anyone? Sanuk!
  9. Hi, "The film cost an estimated THB40 million but only earned THB30,000 at the box office." Ouch! Sanuk!
  10. Hi, "with violating cars facing wheel clamping or being towed away." Excluding of course any cars over a value of 2M Baht. "The slogan of the crackdown is: tow-away, wheel clamp, fine, arrest and polite." Very catchy that! Sanuk!
  11. Hi, Not to mention the massive dent it would make in your wallet. They ARE nice though! Sanuk!
  12. Hi, Thanks. Signed up for that one. Sanuk!
  13. Hi, I've joined Commission Junction which lists 100s of affiliate programs. Already applied for TripAdvisor, but if there are any other sites members here use often please let me know and I'll see if I can find them on the list. If there's enough I might just add a page listing all the different affiliates I've signed up for. Otherwise, I'll just add them as banners in the sidebar. Sanuk!
  14. Hi, Have emailed them. Looks like I already have an account, but no access details and it is linked to my old @nanaplaza.com email. Can't create a new account linked to the same site. Coss, will check out those two as well. Sanuk!
  15. Hi, No idea how they are now, but the niece got one from her boyfriend a few years back, and it was utter garbage. Required an inordinate amount of force to recognize a touch on the screen. Very slow as well. Of course, that was ~4 years ago, so they may well have improved since. Sanuk!
  16. Hi, Nah, it is so they can play games all day, and have multiple accounts (one on each phone) Sanuk!
  17. Hi, Hmm, would it be worth sticking an affiliate on here for them? Seems like quite a few people use them. Sanuk!
  18. Hi, It was an interesting article, but as I said, some of the things it touched upon made me very uncomfortable with it being on my board. Sanuk!
  19. Hi, No, read this bit: "which would pay one-third of the value, which was expected to be at least 10 times higher than the market price for gold." So, one-third of the value would still be ~3 times the value when sold to a gold shop. Sanuk!
  20. Hi, "There is a particular group of men the world over who like to throw their weight around with someone weaker be it verbal or physical." I don't think this is restricted to just being a male trait. Sanuk!
  21. Hi, No, never had to do this in Holland. And make no mistake, this has nothing to do with kids respecting their teachers, but everything with them following the rules; not unlike some other forms of 'respect' shown in this country. Sanuk!
  22. Hi, "the army made a public statement clarifying that the soldier was crying from pepper spray fired by anti-coup protester, not out of sympathy for the demonstrators his troops were trying to contain" And I heard yet another version, that the soldier was near tears due to the abuse being hurled at him. Sanuk!
  23. Hi, Waerth, not everybody reads everything, so no need to get upset if something is posted again. Certainly not it if is important. Sanuk!
  24. Hi, Yep, like Stonesoup says, playing card games is illegal in Thailand. I've seen playing cards and dominos for sale from time to time though (streetstalls, never in shops). Sanuk!
