I said I ordered and she said no YOU did NOT!!! it was Kon Thai na nawn..Then she would speak to me only in broken English. Okkkk. I had been in LOS for 3 months and it was flowing pretty good...if not too subject technical- Sometimes the Thai are just not comfy with farang speak Thai- If the Thais speak English better than my Thai- I go with English but my pet peeve is struggling I broken English when Thai is much easier. 2. The entire when to speak Thai question is tricky. I think Cav's point is well taken. If I am with poo yai and they prefer English (for face or whatever) I go with English- If its a highly technical subject-well sometimes its tough- If regular life I just speak Thai In"entertainment places" I sometimes like to keep my mouth shut and listen to the girls talking shit about the "farang" Being called a dog or whatever is enlightening :grinyes: If I am away from LOS for a few months I always worry bout my Thai but somehow a switch just gets turned and out it pours- but can always learn more...

  5. Don't try to speak Thai with the cops once you're past the very initial stage - and even then, use caution... Its very rare to find a Thai cop that speaks English as well as I do Thai so I do not understand what you mean. Just curious .. :dunno:

  8. I like what my Dutch friend, now living in Berlin has said regarding the Germans..."...I want my bicycle back!" You hear and know the meaning of that one? quite witty... One time about 20 years ago time I landed in Amsterdam during a Football match between the locals and Germany. I was walking near the Bulldog to the train station and a massive drunken fight ensued between some German lads and locals and the Dutch were screaming "where is my grandmothers bicycle" :rotl: A nasty bloody fight...

  11. Th MSM sure kept this quiet Nasty beyond belief- On the night the non-indictment against Darren Wilson was announced there were demonstrations, looting and cars and buildings were set on fire in Ferguson, Missouri. No one disputes this. But except for one building, all of the fires occurred in or near the area of the protests on West Florissant Avenue. The one building that burned to the ground far from where the police were firing tear gas into the crowds of protestors, and those taking advantage of the demonstrations to loot and burn, just happened to be the church that Michael Brown's family were members and attended. As chaos engulfed several Ferguson streets Monday, [Pastor] Lee tried unsuccessfully to chase away looters and put out fires along West Florissant Avenue. Then his phone rang. The officer on the other end of the line told him that he needed to get to his church right away. By the time Lee arrived, the cinder-block structure had been gutted by flames. [...] Although other buildings were burned during the violence that consumed much of Ferguson on Monday, the flames at Flood Christian Church were different. The church building, purchased in March by the 31-year-old Lee, sits well outside the area where things were violent, far from the riots. The glass storefronts on each side remain unscathed. Pastor Lee began speaking out in September demanding that Officer Wilson stand trial for the death of Michael Brown. Shortly thereafter he received a series of death threats. “Seventy-one death threats. But I’ll never forget what one man said to me: ‘I’m going to come pick you up with all you other hateful n----- preachers and put you all in your church and burn you straight to hell.†An arson unit of the ATF is investigating the fire because burning a church is a federal offense. Pastor Lee and other community members believe his church was targeted, possibly by white supremacists, because of his support for the Brown family. I have yet to see any reports of arson investigations by the Ferguson police or any other law enforcement or local fire department officials in St. Louis into what looks like a deliberate case of arson. Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm investigators said somebody purposely set fire to Flood Christian Church on Monday night at 11:44 p.m. Burning a church is a federal offense. ATF agents said somebody forced open the front door and started the fire in the children's area. This Sunday the church will hold its services in a parking lot. Naturally, his insurance company is refusing to pay for damages. They informed Pastor Lee that his policy did not cover damages because it was located in "an area where riots and civil disobedience occurred." The fact that the church is no where near the area where the other buildings were burned and that there were no demonstrations or protests in its vicinity apparently does not matter to the whoever denied the Flood Church's claim. Anyone wishing to donate funds to rebuild the Flood Christian Church can go to their Go Fund Me site here: Mike Brown Church The Flood
  12. "Michael brown killer outed as a kkk affiliate" I don't doubt this but I have not been able to find anything about this Please post source-thanks
  13. Out of control- The Garner murder was just that-murder.
  14. Like Flash I am jaded but IMHO anything is possible
  15. :dunno:HH- That link is every bit as biased as YOU THINK THE OTHER SIDE IS The caption under the top photo- "this is how these blacks behave" That's not a balanced view-to put it mildly.. The above being said-It hard to know what really happened. If he did try and grab the cops gun- Well that's stupid and set things into a very bad direction . Did he deserve to die? I don't think so. What happened to taking someone down with a non lethal shot? The police are out of control in the USA. But on the other hand I also think his step-fathers screaming on top of that car "to burn the bitch down" was a huge mistake- And on it goes.. As practicing Buddhist I see all of this as Karma-US style
  16. The above being said if I were to be arrested and land in the slammer (so far so good:) I would much prefer to be incarcerated in a US prison- The Bang Kwang /Big Tiger for example is a living nightmare
  17. A UN report has condemned the United States for violating the terms of an international anti-torture treaty. The panel took Washington to task for police brutality, military interrogations, and capital punishment protocols. Released by the UN Committee Against Torture, the report took issue with the excessive use of force by law enforcement and accused the US police force of racial profiling. The report was released on Friday, just days after the contentious decision of a Missouri grand jury not to indict a white officer accused of shooting Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen. The decision triggered a wave of protests nationwide. The UN watchdog expressed “deep concern at the frequent and recurrent police shootings or fatal pursuits of unarmed black individuals.†Though the report did not specifically mention the events in Ferguson, Mike Brown’s parents met with the committee to discuss their son’s case in Geneva earlier this month. The 10-person panel, which periodically reviews the records of the 156 countries which ratified the Convention Against Torture – a non-binding international human rights treaty – cited mounting concerns over “racial profiling by police and immigration offices and growing militarization of policing activities.†“We recommend that all instances of police brutality and excessive use of force by law enforcement officers are investigated promptly, effectively and impartially by an independent mechanism,†said panel member Alessio Bruni at a news conference in Geneva. US activists welcomed the findings as a call to action for the federal government.
  18. JFK...fought the CIA, mafia, his own generals (who wanted a nuclear war with Russia!), at times the FBI, was seeking to get out of Viet Nam, had a working relationship with Khrushchev (Russia) and wanted to end issues with Cuba...his plate was overflowing and JFK was gaining ground until they murdered him!!! Agreed I (we) think It was the banking mafia that assassinated JFK. That was the only time I saw my father quietly tears.
