Nervous_Dog Posted February 2, 2003 Report Share Posted February 2, 2003 Damm good point, I travelled by train once from Chaing Mai to Bangkok, while all the backpackers would come to the food carriage and collect food to take back to their bit of the train, I stayed with the staff, they fed me food, I bought drinks, had a really great time! Even in a city the size of Bangkok you don't feel unsafe. Not totally but definitely safer than I would in any city even a tenth its size in the states. Whereas in the States I can spend US$15,000 in a night at Vegas but only achieve above average Joe status. The bad thing is that I haven't had the desire to party in excess for years visiting LOS. I am really content going to a few discos, beer halls and regular restaurants. Go figure.
