When there is no definitive direct translation of a western word or concept, I often make up a new word to get the meaning across.

Example:

Cynic - kon kee(f) mai(f) cheua(f) jai

Without being sarcastic do you ever have troble with people not understanding what the hell you're talking about?

BTW for your phrase I'd drop 'kee(f)' in favour of 'chorp(?)'

I have the problem of not being understood ALL THE TIME. :dunno: :: :: :: :dunno:

But generally I can always make myself understood. It's understanding THEM that's my main problem.

My POINT was that I can often use combinations of Thai words that everyone understands to express a word or concept that has no direct translation into Thai.

Curious, that Thai has no single word for "responsible" and one has to use the combination of RAP(h) PHID(l) CHAWP(f) to express the concept.

And you are quite correct that I tend to underuse CHAWP(f) and overuse KEE(f) in that situation.
