Long tail boats?

Incidentally I once saw a Thai bloke cruising around BKK in a HQ Holden.

Wonder where he got it from?

Holden used to be a major supplier of cars in Thailand until the Japanese moved in. Makes sense really Thai roads had the same conditions (poor) and drive on the correct side of the road. You watch old Thai movies and the good guys are all driving Holdens. Saw an old EH station wagon running around a couple years ago. stopped me dead my tracks.

Rusty,

these are no V8 engines which then would mean gasoline I presume. they are mostly 4 cylinder turbocharged Isuzu which is why they deliver so much exhaust fumes: direct injection engines. all of them are ex truck japanese imports, second hand. other than standard marine engines they do also use the car-style cooling system with a static cooler in front and not fresh water cooling from the river. The interesting thing really is the outdrive with a very small propeller which is because the gearbox works at a 1:1 reduction rate; meaning unit turns at engine revs under full speed.
