I can definately live with a good cheese platter after a meal and some good port or dark red wine.

Absolutely.

Either port or agua dente (special alcoholic Portuguese drink)

Still have 3 litres here of that inflammable stuff :drunk:

So you stocked up huh! Good on you.

What could your wife not bring back from Holland so you could smuggle the Poruguese firewater into LOS?

dark red wine is not all red wine dark..if not is a Rose

torney! different kind of red grapes give a different colour to the wine. compare cabernet, merlot, zinfandel, sangiovese and their blends and you will discover the differencies!

Most are dark in color and as you say the grape variety and or blends can enhance the hue of the wine.

Also the beume can have some effect in colder climates.

The non french varieties you metion are lighter i agree and taste like petrol imo.

Sorry if i upset you it was my intention :neener:

All great with cheese however although i prefer a good port.
