Tokyo Gathering - August 1st

Roppongi-san and I are meeting at the Hobogobolin in Roppongi at 8:00 on Friday August 1st. jp1 is in limbo. I know we have a few members living/staying in Japan (I met two last time in BKK) so hopefully we will have a quorum. But if not, who cares? There has been an abundance of cute J-gals this summer -- right Roppongi-san? :: -- who will distract us. PM either one of us for directions and details. I leave you all with some Mark of Mao - our spiritual light here in Japan. It does not get any more philosophical than this: "They drink to me and it is not the time of the lunch. The heat and the boredom feel in my chest like barmaid fat." (Mao Mark circa January 2003)

It's the silly season here now with all these official days -- Kimono Day, Unagi (eel) Day, Marine Day (though the sun hasn't shined in weeks), so with the powers bestowed onto my pubic dreadlocks, I hereby declare this Friday G-String Day!

All sexy J-gals will be required -- by law -- to wear as little as possible. Prizes will be awarded for the thinnest, the tightest and a special prize of a return trip, via monorail, to the "allure" waters of Odaiba Beach will be given out for any gal wearing a G-string under a yukata (summer kimono).

Police will be patroling the streets and have been instructed to carry out random inspections on gals suspected of not complying with the law.

Now for the roll call:

UAL875 - present :beer::drunk:

Roppongi - hai :beer::drunk:

JP1 - I'm trying to give the big wigs the slip :help: :onfire:

torrenova -- I'm lost in Kyushu :help::dunno::drunk:

voodoo31 -- Who needs a job anyhow? :beer::up:

Fiery Jack -- Just missed you guys by a day :drunk::drunk:

SmittyJP -- It's cheaper to fly to BKK than Tokyo :hubba:

Think Too Mut -- I haven't settled in yet :help:

Kamui -- it's definetly cheaper to fly to BKK than Tokyo :hubba:

Did I miss anyone?

... and I have money for the beer! :beer:

Allow me to add onto the roll call:

Uniformguy -- instead of heeding my advice (read on), still wandering the streets of Osaka with a smaller, less conspicuous video cam, one eye focusing the other looking for Yak urchins trying to steal said equipment. UG - here's a helpful hint from Uncle UAL: when a J-gal offers to go to Karaoke with you and it is just you two, THINK "Blowjob" because that is the minimum you should be getting while belting out Abba's "Super Trouper" :shhh:

Mr. KungFu -- cancelled his trip to Japan after being "found" by the small, but lucrative, Manitoba porn market where he is being dubbed the greatest thing to hit the X scene since John Leslie (and y'all thought UAL didn't have his shit together when the topic of porn spurts up). :neener:

Blue Tokyo -- never ever never posts, PMs me about meeting up and then evaporates into the neon of Shinjuku. Are you with us, baby? :dunno:

As an aside moderators, judging by the lack of views/responses to threads in the Calendar section - these Tokyo invites for example - what can be done to get some higher profile here? Afterall, we are talking about interaction with others, getting away from the keyboard, something I am starting to feel some of my NP brothers need to do .... crikey, I think the Polls section gets better publicity simply by where it is placed on the index. I'm not trying to have my threads win any popularity contests (I could easily do that by posting about toejam in The Board Bar and then reply twelve times to every individual post to keep the thread groovin' but that's not my style) but just wondering if you guys have noticed this... :help:

Sadly I am back at my desk in Perth trying very hard to concentrate on the lectures on 'Japanese Business' and 'Gender and Globalisation'. I am choking with a cold as a result of the many changes of heat humidity rainfall air con cigarette smoke filled rooms etc etc. Still it was a great trip.

And I do have quite a good movie!!! which I will never erase so that it will remind me of the day in Shinjuku.

So have a great night on Friday I'll raise a pint here to you all.

I'll be back in BKK from 26 Sept for ten days if you can make that.

Slainte (Irish for kampai)

99 bottles of beer... on... the...wall.....

Large evening lads, LARGE! :beer::beer: :drunk:

The streets of Roppongi were a full-on tit-parade last night. Even the Hobgoblin had a few gals prowling for the young, handsome exec living the high life in his Harajuku penthouse.

Was I the only guy not to get laid??? What's that saying about a bird in the hand is worth two pokes in her bush? :nono:

So which one of you lucky bastards got to unwrap the yukata?? :grinyes::neener:

UAL875. I come in peace for I still have money for the beer.*

Sounds like you all had fun. I picture a part of the evening rather like 'Burns Night' for the Scots; a traditional meal and drink accompanied by selected readings from the works of MaoMark. As Master of Ceremonies it would be yourself or Roppongi that would be 'in the chair' and responsible for this.

It's a tough one. Tracking down The Philosophy of MaoMark is near impossible for the layman, neophyte and uninitiated Seeker of truth. It appears and then it is gone. Vanished into the mists...

Tales and legends abound of men who have been granted an audience with the mysterious Mark. The trail goes cold very quickly. He is cloaked in apocrypha; his movements and whereabouts as mysterious as his verses to hedonism.

They do say that he is in Spain. Some say he walks amongst us. Still others that he is not of this world.

Do you possess the legendary Collection of his poetry?

Are you an Enlightened One? :bow: :bow: :bow:

*Coded greeting to a fellow follower of 'The Philosophy'.[/

Yes it was a good night indeed.

Jp1 entertained us with his travel exploits around Asia.

UAL made usall jealous with yet more stories of bagging girls almost by accident.

Roppongi almost got himself in trouble when more than one ex turned up at the same bar but he managed to get his way out of any trouble.

I left the gang a bit early and went with some other mates to Trading PLaces - guys lets give this place a try next time - iot was quite busy and many girls around.

I left early (after midnight) to get the dreaded last train, was feeling pretty drunk - maybe that Cider I was drinking at Hobgoblin but more than likely it was that I was having such fun that eveing I forgot to eat dinner.

Anyway lets do it again sometime lads.
