Palatkik
Isn't there a netiquette rule on avatar file size? Cheers,
SingaporeSteve
I think you will find that most people who "live" in Pattaya are staying in houses. For less than 15K month you can forget any large condo/apartment complex - they tend be more expensive (e.g View Talay starts around 15K for Studio), therefore your best bet is probably to book into a hotel for a few days, put on your training shoes and walk around - as other people have said there are loads, mostly small and as often the case in Thailand are not exactly experts at marketing their property. Guest
el, i live here and i think for 10k you could get a nice apartment. the questions are location, size & amenities. there are some reasonable places on the hill between pattaya & jomtien (e.g. casa espana). do you want to live around a lot of people? i live at niran and it's like a little village, but it looks like an old eastern bloc socialist nightmare apartment block (i think it has 1200 units). but it has 2 pools and lots of shops. now is the time to look. prices will be going up as silly season approaches. the area west of naklua road has some quiet places, and the beaches there are a little nicer. really, rent a bike and shop around. Guest
You could try centre condo. I dont know what the number is but they have old and new style apartments in a tall tower block has has mostly beed modernised. There is a good sized pool and even a small gym there too. Down stairs they have a shop, a laundry and restaurant. I stayed there with a girl one time and it was pretty nice. I think you can get a nice room for about 7k a month, 10k will get you a bigger apartment style place. I dont know the name of the road but if you goto the entrance of walking street and look up the road following the one way traffic(when the street shuts for pedestrians). Cross over the junction and walk for about 150 meters there should be a tower block you can see from the main road, on your left. Most of the locals will be able to direct you.. Take care. Guest
What I have heard, many are living in jomtien. Good rooms, cheap and quite area, sea-view available and a short hop to the nightlife, if you are after it.

LOL - Yes I looked at Nirun Grandville in June and was trying to describe the architecture (??) to a friend. Tom's got it spot on! But, the unit I looked at had just been renovated with new tile floors, paint, bathroom fixtures, etc. and new furniture. I think it was around 6K with a/c. I found it in a Pattaya newspaper advert. -redwood
pattaya127
6K with AC, are you sure? It's easy for someone to leave it on all the time and the bill could be way above 2000b.
Khun_Kong
Inn House, Soi 13, brand new, not even 1 month yet, cheap, local, friendly, etc. I've made a couple of posts. Do search for "Khun_Kong " and you'll find them. Max price 2 room studio, 2 bath, 15K/month. PM me if you want more info. Got a house just outside town 8K/month, my current 2BR, 2 bath townhouse, available in 2 weeks, 13K/month.
redwood13
"6K with AC". Sorry, sloppy writing on my part. What I was trying to say was this particular unit had a new AC installed as some of the condos in the Nirun Granville complex have only ceiling fans. Electricity charges would be extra. -redwood
