Sounds like where I saw her last Aug, down suk 71 turn right at a number hotel just before the flyover, quite a small area. If just her concert she usually comes on about 11. I'm depressed knowing i'll miss it, and it is so easy to get to unlike a lot of places. If anyone cannot find it the moto guys always know, the venues are often hidden down small sois

Danish could you ask your friend if she knows of any other non Jintara cancerts also, thanks. Strange this one has not been put on her website-peter

it is on the website now, she also has concerts on friday and sunday :banghead:

I am going to try to change my flight to see if I can get there for the sunday concert-peter ::

shit it would cost almost 300 quid to change and I would have to skive off work on friday. What a pity, I'll have to make do with the Mall. Nearly did it, but I remember doing a similar thing two years ago-spent several 100's inc new ticket home to stay in Bkk another week, and then she did not turn up at the venue. Sat there with two BG's I took along and my suitcase for hours and no show, sometimes I hate thai music.

The webmaster at jintarafanclub told me it was the mall tapra on 6th but I think he has put bagkapi on his site can a reader check it out?

The website clearly says Bangkapi on the 6th, but like you say, you will never be 100% sure if she will actually shows up sometimes. The 31st should be somewhere near Siam, not sure exactly where, but I could check with gf if you like.

My friend suppying me with concert information usually limits it to those concerts she wants to attend :) (most often, Klong Tan, Prakanong, Tawan Daeng and so on, places easy to reach for both her and me).. but I will ask her to let me know of other performers than Jintara, I guess she gets the info from her salon shop with all the gossip.

Best regards,

The same time last year all her concerts were in Bkk, at new year they were a long ways out. This music thing is like an addiction, if I don't get to see a few singers I'll be very pissed off, could not care less about meeting girls these days.

If your friend likes Yui Yatt Yerr I know she is giving concerts on the 30th and 31 st Dec. Let me know if you hear anything.--peter

I love Jintara, and would very much like to see a concert by her or other Morlam artists (Especially Siriporn). However, I always have great trouble finding out where and when. Went once to a concert at Prakanong, don't know by whom, but loved it. But when I ask at my hotel where there may be one, no one can tell me. I can't read thai papers.

I'll be in BKK from Sept 16-21, and Oct 13-17, in between I'll be in Lao PDR, but am willing to travel back to Thaialnd for a great concert. If your friend hears anything about concerts during that period, please post it here.

I may in fact be in Lao until early january, with the odd visa run to LOS, so I certainly hope I can catch some live music.

The place in prakhanong is suk 69/1 at the back of Issan Holiday, looks like a cinema at the front just past a post office. Could have been another place but I doubt it.

Recently paid a private eye to find out music links and got the managers name and and phone numbers for Yui, Sunalee and Banyen. If you want to find out when siriporn is on the only thing to do is go to grammy at 50 Asoke, 26th floor. Takes some doing but they eventually find the list of concerts-they never seem to answer emails etc-peter

Just back from tonights concert at Klong Tan, a good Jintara part of the concert but a somewhat mixed experience overall. We (gf and I) got there a bit past 10pm, found our friends, or rather they found us and we moved to the seats they had put for us close to the stage, actually right in front of the stage. We had done our shopping at Family already, plenty of spy for the girls and some bottles of carlsberg for me.

Jintara came on stage about 11pm, gave a good performance for about 1 hour with a few "talkshow" interuptions. Among the info given she told the she will star in an upcomming movie, interresting news. Did the usual pop songs with a, this time great, pe Bird standin and then some good morlam. After Jintara, thats the time when things started to turn from good to bad, people were getting more and more drunk.

I told gf we should move to the back soon, a fight broke out in the right side of the stage, didn't last long, then things seemed fine again, but 5-10 minutes later people in front were hit by empty Chang bottles thrown from the back. Now we didn't just move, we hurried to the back together with most of the people from the front. Don't know what happened to the people who was hit in front, but surely a large bottle of Chang can do some serious damage.

We got about 30 minutes more concert before the rain set in, I was hoping just a few drops, but no, it was the heavy rain staring, so we ran for shelter like the rest of the crowd, maybe 2000-3000 people, nearest place we reached is an area of the Klong Tan market where they have a few bars, food stalls and clothes are sold. Good shelter until the fights broke out again.

I did my best to keep gf in front while we ran to hide in the back when the bottles started flying again, I think several innocent people were hit. Gf and I somewhat scared, hoping they left the guns and knifes at home tonight, waited 10 minutes then there seemed to be a break in the fights, ran for the exit and got safely to the other side of the street. Met with our friends there and decided to end the night and time to head home.

Now this is not a normal Morlam concert in my experience, most are very peaceful and lots of fun, but shit like this happens sometimes, so be careful when you go to one. I did notice several police officers earlier in the evening, but as gf puts it, they are the first to leave when things go bad. I did notice 2 farangs besides me for this concert, maybe some from this board? hope you had a good time and got home safe.

Best regards,

Danish

Hi Phoenix,

There are pleny of great morlam concerts in Bangkok all the time, but surely good to know there are more Jintara fans out there :) ..

I don't have any info on concerts in the northern part of Thailand, but I can give you and everyone else some hints when I know there will be one in Bangkok. With the interest being show I think I will make a post here everytime I get the knowledge of a concert taking place close to, or somewhat close to, the Sukhumvit area.

This weekend there is a big event at Lumpini, ending tomorow Sunday, Jintara will be there as well tomorrow. But I don't think it's worth visiting. In my experience most of it will be, guess who they stole this song from, and bad karaoke look a likes. Gf puts it as: this company doesn't need real singers, just need someone who looks good and comes from a rich family. Exeptions are there ofcourse, including performers like Jintara and Tata Young.

Best regards,

Danish30
