Coss Posted October 31, 2003 Author Report Share Posted October 31, 2003 Adikgede Thanks for that, I'd seen some goings on about it and was aware that "According to Wilson, the problem affects FireWire 400 and 800 drives attached during the Panther upgrade procedure. Unattached drives are not affected." But it gives you pause for thought. I'm expecting my PB 17" to be delivered any week now (like Artiew, I suffer from the terminal lack of delivery/service problems that result from being about as far away from the good ol' USA as it's possible to get) and I'll be backing up to 4, count 'em, 4 separate disks and disconnecting before a clean install. I do take heart that there are people that have not this problem. Ah well, just when tte sun was starting to shine out of apple's arse again...
