Guest lazyphil
<<Plastic is out of the question...would never have any in the house>> Our living room is full of plants, my favorite is a big Spathiphyllum which has recently flowered for the first time and I think looks pretty good. The Buddha flowers on the shelf do need changing though as are rather old now

No chance of our flowers on the Buddha shelf becoming old
limbo
My wife doesn't like fresh cut flowers for the wilting reasons mentioend. She does like plants a lot, they're longer lasting. She loves orchids and we have some grass in front of the house now and some plants around it. Also a few mango and papaya trees are up and coming, although very slowly. We just had our first watermelon!!
Torneyboy
Hi Limbo You have the weather for watermelons. We have a few plants as well...rather have more of them than cut flowers..although the smell is nice and look good in the house. Money down the drain? limbo
I'm no expert in flowers and plants but I'm sure that there must be some plants that smell nice as well.
