What would you suggest..music wise? I do not like the really fast music/songs..can't follow them at all. The sister loves Anne and is it Gammy/jammy?? A nice beat..the thais can play very well i enjoy a good track..nice beat and good clear diction so i can follow..foot tapping..if you get my meaning. Thanks in advance. thai3
In london she had a small backing band issan black sun I think they were called, no dancers though.Don't really know what to suggest for music, I think you mean palmy on the grammy label, I think she ought to be shot, absolutely horrendous st-ring crap, but some people love it. Jintara's new CD of course and Fon Thanasunthorn has a lovely new CD, Siriporn has a new one and just about everyone else, Mike Piromporn is great as is Deang Jitakorn. Lots of new singers but very difficult to get unless up country. Have a listen to Banyen Raggen the queen of morlam. If you like a bit of a beat try the cha cha cha CD's from sure with a group of singers, monsit, fon, amporn etc. At the moment I am watching an apaporn nakonsawan VCD, crap singer really but wonderful show she puts on. For classic luktung get pumpuang, ponsri woranuch, and surapol. More up to date sunaree rachesima and yui yatt yerr are among the best, IMO that is, oh and there are a couple of outstanding new singers on the grammy label waranuch puttachart, bugger forget the other and another great new singer on master tape called nok who released a CD of northern songs, she looks like khun lam yai -peter

thai3
The best show of the issan type which I think is what you mean is nok noi uraiporn, she has about 300 dancers, went out with an ex dancer of hers who told me all the stories of the troupe, nok noi has 'good heart'. Nok noi gets far more people at her concerts than any other that I have seen, far more than at a jintara concert. Some early siriporn concerts have fantastic dance routines, try to get one with bo rak si dam on it.There are a lot of cheap siriporn ones out now but a lot of the footage is taken up with jokers. For 'proper' dance banyens VCD's are good, she is an amazing dancer and has stacks of VCD's as does nok noi, Dogfa Petchupan is another interesting singer who looks and sounds very similar to Jintara, her VCD's have a few dancers in trad outfits-peter

thai3
No Nok Noi is not the same as Siriporm Ampaipong, although they both have houses near Udon, not same. Siriporn is a far better singer but Nok Noi has the biggest show troupe that I know of. Of course there are are loads of morlam troupes but I only know about a few, and also I prefer the girlie singers, there are just as many famous bloke singers. -peter

So much to see on stage with the larger troupes...and very colorful...great to watch.

gobbledonk
TB, Any chance of her adding Central Qld to her itinerary ? Hilarious, I know, although we did have those old rockers Rose Tattoo through last weekend (no-one under 30 even remembers them...), and Lee Kernaghan has vowed to bring more rockers up here to play for the locals. Cant quite see Jintara on the bill alongside the likes of Grinspoon and Powderfinger, tho
