Lordy! What a marathon readathon that's turned out to be. :: Usenet forums crossed my mind but I didn't want to wade thru all the noise to get at the marrow of things. Ho! Ho! and marrow it was, thanks to Google cutting to the chase yet again.

Thanks for the nudge Redwood it turned out to be very intriguing and most beneficial. Thanks too to chocolat steve for the link.

From what I read on the usenet groups though, once your dependent upon the testosterone replacement therapies, well, that's 'just it', your dependent forever more on the exogenous source as the body's own production ceases. That changes everything from this sanukers perspective. Time to hunt a new plan b to ferret out the lost libido.

First off though, it's time to rest the eyes. :help:

On my travels I met a Euro girl who was on anti depressants, who told me that her sex drive was seriously diminished.(Didn't seem to stop her from wanting us to get together though).

So that seems to support the anti depressant theory.

^^^ Agreed! I'm rather ticked off at my doctor now for not informing me upfront of the longterm consequences. I was told the ability to reach orgasm would be diminished and sex drive might diminish too. BUT! this was presented as being the case while I was on the medications. There was no talk of a residual loss of sex drive after stopping the medications. What ticks me off now is I went into it explaining the neccessity was for 6 months only and no more. Yet this residual loss is what I seem to have experienced and was greater than the loss of drive while on them (in my case). Wonder what of your Euro girl after she stopped, assuming she did.

From the readings I did just recently there are major differences between medications in this regards and some serious losses of libido in many of the medications. I'll start researching more next week and I hope in the next few weeks to find some information concerning where to go post-antidepressant therapies.

Thanks for sharing!
