Guest
I look for similar events prior to my trips. In fact, I scheduled my up-coming travel to make sure I'd be around for the BITEC auto exposition again this year :: Each individual venue website seems to have the best info as far as accuracy and timeliness is concerned. I did a search for both BITEC and the Queen Sirikit Convention Center. Seems that the QSCC has 3 events during your stay that might be of interest: Docuworld 2004, "Explore Digital Solutions"; Spa Health and Beauty (make up your own subtitle for this one!); and a Furniture Expo. Some events, as you know, are only open "to the trade", while others are open to the public. Some are open to both, with the public only allowed on certain days. If "trade only", you might want to consider going to MBK or someplace and having a few "business cards" made up in 5 or 10 minutes. Just put something down like "Gringo and Associates" with a vague title and biz description and fake contact info. It should get you into these things. The Department of Export Promotion has a website that you can use to start for researching. (http://www.thaitrade.com) And the BITEC and QSCC have websites with search capabilities for each month/dates in which you are interested. You might want to check out: http://www.bitec.net/ and http://www.qsncc.co.th/ (there's a "what's happening" link on the far right side of the home page where u can query the schedule of events). Oh...don't hit on the spa show girls for a "soapy"
Crash999
Check out http://www.thaitradefair.com/ ... This month is the gem and jewelry fair, which is enormous. The best show of the year is the Bangkok International Gift and Houseware show, held every April and October. It showcases a lot of non-food product that still remains competitive, despite China sniping away at more business every year. Cheers!

whosyourdaddy
Yes, we are looking for a small franchise, probably in the food industry as a small side business for the wife for next summer. Hopefully find something at one of the trade shows.
Crash999
Whosyourdaddy, I attended a Thailand franchise fair at Queen Sirikit a couple of years ago but I can't see another one scheduled for this year. The Thaifex show in May seems to have some local franchises exhibiting. Cheers!
