shygye
The 340-500 is a 4 engine plane. The 330 series is 2 engine.
gobbledonk
Jesus, I know plenty of computer geeks, but you guys are some serious aircraft geeks :: Thanks for all the info - I'll remember it next time I see smoke coming from the starboard engine, and the FA's start handing out life jackets. ..
Aye. But I included 3 & 4 engine ETOPS rules in the post, too. Yeah, they should come up with a different name, but that's what they call it even when dealing with 3-4 engined planes. Cheers, SD
Dali
Whitney said:I wish it were a law that showers be provided for a reasonable price to travelers at major airports :: I agree! A couple of years ago I found a barber shop with shower facilities in the San Francisco airport (international terminal, at the top of the esclators) - it was OK but nothing special - rather cold as I recall. My favorite is the shower/shave/changing mini-rooms in Cathay Pacific's Hong Kong business class lounge, where you can also get some good noodle soup! gobbledonk
I've heard nonstop New York to Singapore is coming this summer. Jesus ! Anyone have a figure on how many miles that comprises ? I thought the Poms had it tough when flying to Asia, but this seems even worse. With the possible exception of a few people living in places like Nova Scotia, this is probably as close to 'flying halfway around the world' as it gets. Makes me happy that I live so close to SEA ::
