"Maybe stickman should close his (or at least part of) site down. It promotes LOS prostitution with pictures of the Eden club and such places. "

...............................................................................

Yep, I have found his views contradicting his adds... My reply is to this thread BTW, and the following is not to your post my friend!

When it comes to immigrations laws, should it matter at all what profession the girl has been in? The only thing they should be concerned of, is fake connections and scams.

As far as I know the Norwegian immigration authorities do not care about the girls former profession, but they do care if people lie. I hate to praise them as I have fought them for 1 year and just got a visa, but they do it right when it comes to that. My fiancee's visa has nothing to do with this discussion though, she is not even Thai.

When it comes to GTG and former BG's they seem to mix very well here in Norway.

Cheers!

I think our embassy is one of the most balanced. Years ago when I was recruiting university students to Canada we had real problems. Most were rejected, they had to send off the medicals to Singapore etc.

Now our embassy seems very fair IMHO. Most students with qualifications are allowed in. There is a huge drive on for educated immigrants to enter the East and Manitoba. Qualified students and educated immigrants get fairly good quick, service . They keep the visa and PR fees high enough to deter the unwanted. I was surprised to find out the restrictions for even my wife to immigrate to Canada. ALthough it is a personal pain for us, I appreciate the efforts they are making. We live in a socialist society and we have enough of our own bums living off of the goverment.

I have never known of a Bar girl (Thai or otherwise) who went to another country and made an improvement in the country. Mind you most of them are stories off of the boards. But from these stories and few personal contacts, none of them have impoved the country.

[color:"red"] I would be very interested in hearing statements that dispute this. What has an ex-bargirl done that is worth while for a country to try and encourage them to come? [/color] Most would not bring in a huge amount of tourist dollars, most would not improve and internationalize the educational systems, most would not start up successful businesses. Cant think of much that a girl /bar girl with Bor 6 could do to improve my country that we should risk the diseases, social problems and burden to the welfare system that she MAY bring into the country

OK, as a fellow Canadian i am going to give you a very real story and then you can tell me if you truly believe 'our' system is balanced.

Man I work with is the Head Underground Mechanic of one of the largest mines in Canada.

Goes to pattaya on holiday. Meets girl. Love, marriage. etc.

She is a Thai police officer, Narcotics.

He moves to Udon Thani. they build nice house. have babies.

Grandpa and Granma come visit, see grandkids.

OK so far.?

His Dad is retired senior customs officer, (Friendship Arch BC/Wash). Thinks it would be nice for the grandkids to come visit Canada.

Go to get visas in Bkk.

First words to the husband are "So long you known this whore?"

Only 1 1/2" of plate glass prevented grampa from decking this asshole. Welcome to 'fair'.

Your mileage may very, but the built in and oft encouraged prejudice and bigotry by embassy officials, Canadian and otherwise is legend.

Now I realize that you do not have all the experience of this as you only deal with very proper people, but let me assure you WYD that Canada and many other countries have an 'unwritten and oft unspoken' policy of "extreme prejudice" to certain nationalities. Especially those outside 'Commonwealth Status'. I have worked with agents at many POEs here and this is confirmed in their 'profiling'.

Your comment "I have never known of a Bar girl (Thai or otherwise) who went to another country and made an improvement in the country." is an insult to many on this board and their wifes and girlfriends, that belays your misogimistic attitude. Shame on such comments. Surely you do not believe them.

YOU SAY:

I would be very interested in hearing statements that dispute this. What has an ex-bargirl done that is worth while for a country to try and encourage them to come?

Well I suggest that you stand back and LISTEN to those who have the experience, rather than rattle on about your perceived peceptions that are WAY out of line IMO and my experience.

There are MANY even on this board of whoremongers that will attest to MANY bargirls that have contributed more to outside countries, than most farangs have contributed to Thailand.

WYD ........ I am most distressed that an obviously educated and intelligent man in so many ways, would present such a provincial, unrealistic and narrow minded attitude as this post displays.

Be interested in knowing when the policewomen was treated with such rudeness at the embassy. We had a real BITCH working at the embassy but luckily she was fired around 1998. She made my life a living hell and almost made flying to bangkok not worth it.

"Your comment "I have never known of a Bar girl (Thai or otherwise) who went to another country and made an improvement in the country." is an insult to many on this board "

Key words- I have never known. So yes I am looking for answers and yes I am listening. So I am assuming you have some experiences that you can share with us. Because being quite frank I have never read/experienced of such a thing, and my opinion is based on this. Please feel free to share with us.

Sorry if you think I am insulting people. I am just explaining my experiences.

"British passport I always get hassled by immigration officers of Asian descent at Vancouver Airport"

Oh it is now Hong-ouver international airport. I flew into Vancouver 2 years ago and I was the only white person in the immigration line up. I turned to my wife and asked her if we were in Canada or not.

That's because they all "Lub u too mut"... or at least "Oh goodness gracious me, welcome to my country" ::

I just find it inconceavable that anyone in Canada does not recognize the contributions of immigrants which most of our own grandparents were. An almost of them were "poor, diadvantaged, and uneducated"

This bourgeous attitude that only the 'educated and rich' should be allow in is country is contrary to everyting that founded North America and an insult to almost every immigrant who ever came here. And that includes my family. So yes, I take it personal.

( Now wait til you have to get a cab from the line out front :banghead:) 555555

Well if this was the actually case Toronto would not be the most multi-cultural city in the world. I think Canada has a fair immigration policy. Most of our cities are very multicultural and with few problems between the cultures. Rural areas are different and that is why the goverment has said we have open doors for these areas.

But not to contridict myself, I dont think a rural thai would be successful in canada. I have been to rural thailand a few times and have found their lack of confidence and ambition would inhibit any successful immigration without some serious sponsorship
