Go to LOS next yr with 30 000 000 baht guaranteed

Recommended Posts

This is a humourous guide for those people who want to live for today and worry about tomorrow, additionally it is only valid for the the UK.

What pitfalls are there in the below idea other than those outlined? Imagine life in LOS with 30 000 000 baht in your Bangkok bank account, it could fund a relaxing retirement in Chaing Mai, or the Islands perhaps..... Whats stopping you?

On the grand scheme of things 30 000 000 baht is not a huge amount in the west, its a lot for most people, however its not enough to retire on by anymeans. However in LOS its enough to give most people 20 or 30 years of comfortable living, provided inflation doesnt increase too much and you have the money in a reasonable account in the west.

I have been looking in to the legal consequences or lack of them. In the UK if you take out credit cards, bank loans etc and as long as you make a couple of repayments its a civil matter, police will not be interested in the least. In fact the civil courts look very poorly on irresponsible lenders, taking the view thats its the lenders tough luck for lending irresponsibly.

So fed up with life in Farang land, if you have good credit apply for all the cards you can within a year to 18 months, slowly build up your limit.

1/ Aim to get about all the cards you can, its crucial to build up the limit slowly slowly over the year... And its also crucial to not apply for say 10 cards in a month

2/ During the year, put your newly acquired cash in your bank account and represent it as income.

3/Open up account or two in Belgium , (friendly banking laws)

4/Open up a mail box etc post box.

5/ Ask Bank for a loan of 3 million baht, with all your income passing through account shouldnt be a problem.

6/ Start taking over your money to Belgium, remember 10 000 pounds and over customs and exercise have the right to make you prove where it came from and where you are taking it to., The onus is on you to explain its origin. ( Saying you are buying a boat is a good answer, take along your copy of Boating weekly and make sure you know which side is port etc, they will ask. If you dont feel comfortable with boating say you are going to the diamond area of Antwerp.

7. Slowly slowly your Belgium Bank Account will be growing.

8. Phone up the Bank and say that the 3 million baht loan is not enough, you are a good customer so they will increase it to 5 000 000.

9.Its up to you how much you want, I think you can get more, in 2 years you could maybe get 45 000 000 baht

10.When the times come depart for LOS, phone up all your creditors and notify of your change of address, to the Mailbox etc address you have rented for 5 years.....

11. Get a new 10 year passport and off you go, when in LOS you can transfer the Belgium money to LOS or keep it there.

12. Alternatively you can open up an HSBC account in Belgium AND Transfer the monies to that and then merely open up an HSBC account for yourself in LOS.

13. You can liase with your creditors to give them the illusion you are wanting to rectify the matter.

14. If you made Bankcrupt you will not be able to credit for 6 years, if you are a lawyer you cannot practice for life. Other than those penalties thats it.

For those with bad credit, you can change this immediately for an A1 rating. Use the electoral role or www.bt.com find someone with your surname in an affluent area, make sure they have lived there for more than 3 years and merely use that address as your PREVIOUS address

It's stealing. Isn't that enough reason to know it's dumb to rob hard working people who are having a hard time making ends meet as it is?

IMHO not paying credit card bills is indeed stealing from "hard working people struggling to make ends meet".

People not honoring their obligations to the credit card companies contributes to the reason for the high interest rates and fees credit card companies charge.

Additionally, many people invest their retirement nestegg in mutual funds that may invest in credit card companies. And people not honoring their obligations to the credit card companies cause lower returns for these peoples scrimping and saving for their future.

Well if they didnt pay their credit card bills they wouldnt have to scrimp and save for the future. Essentially the choice is there for those prepared to take it. If you dont have any moral concerns about not paying your credit card bills, are sure you will be in LOS for the long term and feel that you need an extra 20 to 30 million baht for a comfortable living then the answer seems clear to me.

The most important piece of advice is if by doing this you cant sleep soundly at night, then dont do it.

If it does go pear shaped accept it like a man and dont moan.

Yeah, this is fraud pure and simple.

If someone did this, I don't think it would be too hard to put together a case of fraud. Now the question becomes how big does it have to be before it attracts enough attention for this to happen? Or what enemy are you going to make who is going to check into your background and possibly let the folks back home know.

Additionally, I wonder how Thai immigration would look at it if some financial institutions presented them with evidence of one's uncreditworthiness. Making a visa run, or just a weekend getaway to Singapore might be interesting on the return leg when one could be denied entry back into Thailand.

Is it worth the chance?

While criminal action may indeed be long odds, I believe someone can easily use this information to screw with your ability to stay in Thailand.
