Congratulations KS ! If I remember correctly, times were tough for you just a few months ago, now your cup runneth over - there's something in that for those of us who have doubted whether IT remains the place to be in the noughties.

 

I've also been offered another job (see 'The Interview' in Career and Finances), but I'm less inclined to open the Champagne bottles just yet. I guess I've just got it far too good where I am - flexible hours, minimal supervision from any of the layers of management above me etc. The other side of the coin is that I'm extremely unlikely to move beyond the current Perl/Apache/MySQL world if I stay here.

Hi,

 

I had to take this offer. Not onlydoes it mean working again with at least one, and likely several, of the people of our old team, whom I really enjoyed working with, it also meant a 60% increase in salary. There were other reasons as well, but they were the main ones.
