Jdietz
Well your friend seems trustworthy Speeds seem up quite a bit, DNS is actually giving out IP numbers most of the time (I had to use an alternative for a couple of days) and on the whole it 'feels faster' JD
chilli13
just ran 2 'bandwithplace' speedtest here 2:20pm with some adsl service provided by the apt. 95kbps & 113kbps seems to be the range for international. not too bad really compared to your average internet cafe
Guest
That speed sucks! Only getting the speed of 2 modems would be pretty upsetting to me if I signed up for broadband. I would think 2pm is not even peak usage time. You didn't say what adsl package this is. Maybe the apartment is just isdn or something like that. khunsanuk
Hi, Did a similar test a while back (it seems to be broken now), and got speeds ranging from 75Kbps to 800+Kbps, averaging about 300Kbps. Sanuk!
gomez
And I'm sitting here wondering if I should wait or jump. Sounds like I should wait.
khunsanuk
Hi, Why wait? I'm now paying less than I was for my dial-up and getting 3-4 up to 15+ times the download speeds. Sanuk!
gomez
Yeah, I guess, but sounds like lots of headaches if things aren't just right. Do you, or anyone, use skype? How does that work on the adsl?
jxxxl
I checked the True website and it appears that this service is only offered in Bangkok. Can someone tell me if I haven't understood this correctly? I'd like to get this in my home in Chiang Mai, but I don't see that True has any offices here. chilli13
don't know which network, but the deal is 1024 kbps DL & I pay 1990thb/month so they better don't hide a isdn behind the wall... keep in mind I'm talking international actual throughput speeds here & NOT just the local backbone just did a much more reliable FTP download (2x 10M files) to LOS from a server in sweden & fluctating like hell throughput rates I got average 160kbps & max rate 360kbps time is now approaching 11am I'm afraid!
