sayjann Posted August 14, 2004 Report Share Posted August 14, 2004 didn't see it all. but i do like to see the Athletes walking behind their flag. sometimes only 3-4 Athletes representing their Country. bought a lump to my throat when i saw an Athlete who was the only Representative from her Country. this sort of thing is the spirit of the Games.... Mentors Posted August 15, 2004 Author Report Share Posted August 15, 2004 thank you C-b-k, here more infos: (The Nation) -- Medal hopeful Aree Wiratthavorn won the first medal for Thailand, snatching a bronze in Women's 48-kilogramme Weightlifting while breaking an Olympics record - successfully passing a 115-kg Clean & Jerk lift in a 200-kg effort. Nurcan Taylan from Turkey won the gold medal - for passing a 97.5-kg Snatch lift and a 112.5-kg Clean & Jerk lift. China's Li Zhuo came second for passing a 92.5-kg Snatch lift and also a a 112.5-kg Clean & Jerk lift. Today (15.8.)
