thai3
That's interesting, what part of Issan is the mrs from? I have seen her (not your mrs) all over thailand and not once seen fruit thrown or ever once seen her refuse a hand.I heard this story from early in her career when she was not used to handling crowds and her natural shyness seems to have gotten the better of her a few times. She did not do concerts for a while after. I have seen very few singers have a high handed manner, but one that comes to mind is Christy Gibson.Mind you if you I woud'nt blame anyone for refusing some at the concerts, they can be a pain in the arse filled up with mekong. Jintara seems to have a bit of a public relations problem with some thais and I have heard this high handed remark before, but not witnessed it myself. Maybe it's down to resenting the success of your own kind which would be sad.Can you ask the mrs for some examples of bad behaviour that she has witnessed, that are not urban, or rather rural myths? I do know Jintara does charity work but does not, unlike some make a habit of bragging about it, that she has looked after her family well and that she still sleeps on the floor. I'd be interested to learn what she has or has not done back home in Roi Et.What's the ear problem story? The singers, mainly female have lots of vicious stories spread around. Earlier this year people were saying Siriporn was a ladyboy! I have seen Jintara picked up by fans and stop a concert while she signed piles of T shirts, hats and shoes at the request of the crowd. I could she a singer like Yui Yatt Yerr being called high handed, but Jintara, cannot see it at all.-peter
check_bin_krap
This was about 12 yrs ago, in bahn soktaet. Close to the dam on the way from Khon Kaen to Udon. I have often seen in posts that Fly's experiences and mine differ. Villages are not alike, you can't take one and say thats the way Isaan is. Some have more problems than others. Many factors come into it. A village in Isaan is a small society. Added: I have never lived there long periods like Fly has. So my knowledge is low. Guest
my missus is from the north (they really like mor lam there as well). i can only relay what the missus said. appearantly she liked jintara's music a lot before that incident, but during a concert she appearantly has flat out refused to shake hands with her fans, after which they got really pissed off and threw fruits at her. and they still don't like her there anymore. dunno if my missus was acyually at the concert (she's asleep now, can't ask her), but knowing her temper... anyhow, the missus doesn't like her 'coz she thinks she's arrogant. has nothing to do with envy, she still likes a lot of other singers from a poor village background. but don't ask me which ones as i don't really share her taste in music.
