butterfly
I live in BKK 10 days a month and California the rest of the time so I should know this but i don't. In California I have a SonyEricsson EDGE PC Card with AT&T for my laptop...any place I can get a average AT&T cellphone connection I can also get a decent internet connection on my laptop, about 3 times faster than dialup. So my question is, is this service available from DTAC or AIS ? I have a pre-paid DTAC account now, and have a work permit so I can get a post paid DTAC or AIS account if thats the requirement... Nervous_Dog
Some companies offer wifi, which i think is what you are referring to here, DTAC and True come to mind, AIS through subsidery ADC. DOG
keekwai
DTAC offers GPRS for their prepaid cards. Slow and a bit pricey but fine for checking mail, online banking.
Straycat
It's not WIFI. If I'm not mistaken EDGE is an enhancement of GSM/GPRS, which in speed is somewhere between that and the so called 3G. To my knowledge there is neither EDGE or 3G in Thailand. (There is the GSM non-compatible, CDMA though on the Hutch network, I believe.) The GPRS that comes with AIS pre-paid 1-2-Call isn't too shabby, so you should be quite alright. gummigut
Yes they've got it. It's about 1,000 baht a month unlimited access. I wish I new about it before I bought my wifi card for 2k. I understand these gprs cards are coming into the 5k range. Was in the paper a few weeks ago. <<burp>>
