sayjann
the war of words between Fergie and Wenger is just boring these Days. Fergie accused Mourinho of making comments about Refs to get an advantage in games. but both Fergie and Winger do it all the time and i can see Fergie starting this now in anticipation of the coming game. he is wanting to influence the Ref for that game and we shall see whichever Ref takes charge favours any Club. how about putting the pair of them into a boxing ring and whoever wins takes the plaudits. but who who win?. would it be the Gorbals wonder or the French Philospher? Belem
A big loss for Everton and their hopes of qualifying for the CL next year. Looks like Real Madrid has finally found the guy to replace the intangibles Makelele brought to the midfield for them.
Zaad
I'm surprised they didn't go for ballack. We'll see if makes it in Madrid AND can keep his superb form.
Steve
The good young English keepers can't get in the big sides. Kirkland has injury problems but seems to be a great keeper. Taylor was an England U21 international and is 3rd choice for us. Stack as well. Robinson and James are the only ones that seem to have the #1 shirt at some of the better sides and those sides are midtable sides at best. The top sides (Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea) have gone foreign.
naughtyboy
I cannot understand why neither Man U or Arsenal have not made a move for Stefan Klos of Rangers. He has been and is an excellent keeper. He does'nt seem to be rated by the Germans either. ::
Steve
Naughty boy, maybe its money, he may cost too much. Or he's happy. Personally, I think we should try for Stuttgart keeper Hildebrand.
Steve
Interesting article on Roman. One other thing the article fails to mention is that Kenyon has tried his tactics that honed at Man Yoo of trying to scuttle the purchases of rivals. A year ago, Chelsea weren't tracking Reyes, but as soon as our bid was announced they tried to buy him at the last minute, even though they had Duff. Kenyon flipped his nose at his past employers stealing Robben as well. Its bad enough they have deep pockets but Chelsea's tactics are getting a bit out of hand. Not sour grapes but is it really fair? Legal yes, but fair?
Zaad
Not really I guess but don't worry too much about it, they can't keep buying every single player a rival club is interested in anyway. If that was uberhaupt their intention but I highly doubt it.
Steve
Zaad, think if Man Yoo had Robben? Chelsea were winning games 1-0 till he was in the team. He added a whole new dimension to their attack. He may have done the same for Man Yoo. What if we didn't get Reyes because Chelsea tried to scuddle the bid? Buying top players for your own club is one thing. Deliberately trying to weaken your rival by buying or increasing the transfer fee with a bid is another. For instance, what if we tried to buy a top keeper and we were at our max for what we wanted to spend and Chelsea tried to counter bid, we back off, then they negotiate ad nauseum and decide not to take the player. Now the fee is at a new level.
Zaad
Well, try to do it behind closed doors I'd say and don't wait a day or two.
